Charlie’s Scribes Take Africa By Storm!

Michelle was so kind to let Charlie's Scribes take over and make the big announcement for her bloghop UBUNTU. But, it came with our own HANGOVER MOVIE rendition….

http://tammybr2.blogspot.com/p/charles-scribes.html

"Agh!" My head was pounding as I awoke in a hotel room. I shot straight up in bed. "Where am I? Wait…I'm wearing a coconut bra?"

Covering my glistening sun burnt skin, I groaned from the pain, and heard a cellphone chime ‘Lovely Bunch of Coconut’. I pressed play, eyeballing the ostrich stretching its neck out from the bathroom.

"Oh my gosh! What happened last night?"

Then I heard Mark's voice mail message:
"Hey Tammy, pick up. It’s Mark and Liz; we’re at Michelle’s concert waiting for you.   Listen, something weird is going on. Liz picked me up in a cab from a place called Bates Motel; I have a new tattoo of an elephant on my right shoulder and a pounding headache that reminds me of Ireland. You need to hurry and get up here mas rapido. After the next number, Michelle will announce her blogfest winner."

Wait…Michelle lives in South Africa. I rushed to the window, and pulled back the curtains.

Then the cell chimed again to the tone of ‘Super Freak’. Another voice message:

"It's Liz. WHERE ARE YOU!! I want you to know I came on this little adventure because you made me. I wore the hooker shoes because you said the lions wouldn't eat me for fear of choking on the heels. Well, guess what? Maneuvering through elephant crap in stilettos just plain stinks! I have enough dung stuck in my toes to plant potatoes. Anyway, follow the elephants, they will take you to the concert!"

I grabbed a pair of pink Hawaiian flip-flops with the initials “MK” and ran out the door, nearly ice skating in vomit.

"Agh, gross! Who ate rice?"

After two miles of dung dodging, and not being able to “move this traffic along” any faster, I finally heard crowds cheering, and one high pitched girlie squeal, scaring off the elephants that lead me there.

"Tammy! You made it!" Mark said jumping as the concert's disco beams bounced off his bald head.

"Mark, put a hat on! I'm blinded!" Liz yelled in her hooker heels.

"Quiet Cybertwins, I have a headache! Oh wait. Michelle's gonna announce the winner! Listen!"

…all entries were amazing……… and I'm sending out a second round of cyber hugs to the 20 participants… but the entry that resonated with me the most belongs to………

                                ROBYN ALANA ENGEL

** the Scribe's wondered what happened that night, until THIS photo leaked…

Mark tried to smuggle one on the plane. It tried to rip his hair out, but well, you can probably guess that didn't work, but it pecked his bald skull so much, he let it go.

Man, you just can't take some people anywhere!

I am beside myself, and the myself next to me is over-the-top amused and honored. She's jumping up and down in a coconut bra and MK flip flips to the tune, "Super Freak." Thank you, all. Thank you. Thank you. It really means a lot. I'd been playing with the concept of my poem for a while, and your blogfest, Michelle, brought it out of me. You're a beautiful lady. Cyber hugs back to you, the scribes, and all.

It sounds to me as if Africa was the winner – and Charlie's Scribes need to be storming out – quietly.

A hoot to start my day with.  Mega thanks.

At least you didn't wake up to a tiger in your room. Or since it's Africa, a lion.
