What’s Your Chocolate Blogfest
Those of you who know me must be wondering what on earth would I have to say about chocolate? As a non-choccie fanatic (yes, I can go for three months without eating chocolate… believe it or not), I give you….. *drum roll*…… what I do best…..a flash fiction piece.
CHOCOLATE CHIT-CHAT
Each chocolate craved the coveted central position in the chocolate display.
"I should be given first preference!" the well-known Mr. Cadbury silenced everyone.
"What's the fuss about? I deserve it," the haughty Mr. Toblerone piped up.
The exotic chocolate truffles stared down at the barely-tolerated baking chocolate, while a bevy of Nestle milky bars batted their eyes and giggled at the sight of a smooth, dark Belgian chocolate hunk who passed by.
Signorina Ferrero Rocher emerged in all her golden glory, followed by Fraulein Lindt and a collective sigh could be heard from the chocolate gallery.
There was a stunned silence as, without warning, the utterly gorgeous and unbelievably expensive Noka Vintages collection made the grand entrance.
The fight was over.

NōKA Chocolate is an American company, based in Plano, Texas, that markets itself as “a chocolatier specializing in gourmet chocolate gifts.” The company’s products are made from chocolate it says is sourced from Venezuela, Trinidad, the Ivory Coast, and Ecuador. It provides its customers with a “Tasting Guideline” in every box. The company’s founder says that its products are “not so much candy as a tasting experience.” Given the prices charged for the chocolates, one newspaper has written, “NoKA is not for the faint of heart — or pocketbook

Amazing! I could fund a weekend vacation for the family for that amount of money.
I wonder to what extent the taste really matches the price… I suppose a chocolate connoisseur would be able to tell, although it's also a matter of preference.

That is some pricey choclate. I thought my local chocolatier was pricey at $40 a pound.

I have heard of that chocolate company in Plano. I think my daughter actually went in once and bought a truffle for something like 2 or 3 dollars. One truffle. She did say it was the most devine candy she had ever tasted, and she had good Swiss chocolate when she was in Europe. Maybe when I am a rich author, I can have her order me a whole box. LOL
Aah, wouldn't that be something else? As a chocolate-addict-turned-rich-author, being able to indulge your love of chocolate by ordering a whole box of Noka Vintages Collection?
My hubby is the kind of person who would ask: At that price, I wonder if the chocolates talk to you or perform some other miraculous function… he!he!
For that price, I hope it comes with a stereo or something!

Good question! Most probably… maybe even more than fifty pounds… at that price, anything is possible!

Nice twist on the Choc fest! and . . .once I walked into a chocolate shop with my daughter in an expensive part of San Francisco, and told her yes, we could get something. ha! We did get about an ounce of chocolate each . . . not sure how much it was a pound, but we spent about $7 just for our two ounces.
Gosh, it's amazing that some chocolate can be SO costly! I'm also surprised at the many, many different types of chocolate combinations I've encountered during the blogfest… something like, chocolate and orange, who would have thought…?
I love it, but I've never heard of the last chocolate. Now I must find it….and eat it.

Months without eating chocolate?!? I don't even know what to do with that piece of info. I eat chocolate multiple tmes a day because I love it so. I wish I had known about this blogfest. But I did enjoy how you really pegged the "personalities" of all the different types of chocolates in your flash piece. Although as much as I adore chocolate, I'd never heard of that Noka chocolate. I'll splurge every onece in a while for Godiva because it's my favorote, but I can't even imagine paying $854 per pound – that's wild!
Yes, months without eating it… I felt like the party pooper amidst all the chocoholics! 🙂 One or two bloggers mentioned Godiva… I'm not sure that we get it here!
