E is for Echoes + Effigy + Endless
Welcome to the annual A to Z Challenge.
My theme: showcasing bloggers books, novellas, short story collections, poetry collections and some non-fiction books. The letters of the alphabet will correspond with the book title. I’ll be posting a link to my review of each book. I also have two questions for the author, just to spice things up a little.
Hopefully, visitors to my blog will be able to increase their reading lists and also get ideas for their wish lists.

The book character you want to have coffee with is: Meg Powers. (She’s the main character of Ellen Emerson White’s President’s Daughter series. I’ve loved Meg since I was 12 years old.)
What would you name the autobiography of your life? Sister Sarcasm.

Do you read or write poetry? Can you recommend a good poetry collection? Do you read or write high fantasy? I think the most challenging aspect of writing fantasy is the world-building. Do you agree? The books above all have a one-word title. If you had to choose one word as the title of your autobiography, what would it be?
I’m afraid I haven’t read much poetry, though I do enjoy the fun kind (like written by Shel Silverstein or Dr. Seuss). I do love reading fantasy as well–Tamora Pierce is a favorite.

I write epic fantasy and I think the hardest part for me is keeping all story strings in hand. (My series only has like a million of them to keep track of. ;-))
Great books here. I definitely think world-building is tough, but its also very exciting. I used to read poetry, but I have been reading more fiction lately. Good-luck with the rest of your A-Z posts.

I agree world building is the hardest and yet the most fun! I love poetry, I find it to be the most honest form of expression. I try my hand at it but I’m a dabbler. Nila is the expert. I never tire of reading her work!

I love high fantasy – it is one of my go to genres whenever I look to pick up a book. The cover for Effigy is utterly beautiful. World building is definitely one of the major tasks of high fantasy – without the right setting it doesn’t matter how good your characters are, they will be missing something. I’m not sure it’s the hardest part, but possibly the most time consuming.

More tempting tempting books. I couldn’t find that one from yesterday (Delirium) at the library but I’m evidently still thinking about it. I agree world-building is the hardest part of fantasy novels. Epic fantasy is my main project at the moment and I have in addition to a huge novel that keeps growing pages and pages of backstory and info so I have it all down and am consistent even if I never use it. I love Tolkien-style high fantasy but it’s so all-consuming. Endless looks the most interesting today though. Peace!
For some reason, I never really got into poetry. Although, there have are a few A to Z bloggers who are using poetry which is making me think I should explore it a bit more.
By the way, the cover for Endless is really striking.

Good questions!! I haven’t read much fantasy since studying the Inklings (Lewis, Tolkein, Sayers, etc) in school but maybe I should start again 😀 If I had to title my autobiography with one word I think it would be — Free. What a great set of questions!

It’s funny that you were highlighting the cover of Endless because when I opened the page, my eye went right to that cover. I think it’s something about the colors in the background that drew me in. I find cover design such an interesting challenge.

Though I don’t write poetry, I like reading it. Echoes, Effigy and Endless, all look wonderful. The 3 titles and their amazing covers are awesome. I love reading and writing fantasy. I would love the Ebook copy of either of the two books.
