F is for Fragmented…

Welcome to your daily dose of inspiration:
In Darkness Be Light.

Since social media and news in recent times has been filled with so much hate and negativity, these simple reminders aim at promoting positivity and lightening up your day.

Fragmented: Because we fail to listen to each other’s stories, we are becoming a fragmented human race.    Madeleine L’Engle

Would you like to be a part of spreading positivity? Check out the We Are The World Blogfest, which aims at promoting positive news. Here’s the shortened version:

  • Keep your post to below 500 words, as much as possible.
  • All we ask is you link to a human news story on your blog on the last Friday of each month, one that shows love, humanity, and brotherhood. Something like this news, about a man who only fosters terminally ill children.
  • Join us on the last Friday of each month in sharing news.

In our fast-paced, efficiency-focused society, people often do not recognize the benefit of sharing and listening to stories. Storytelling can be regarded as one of the oldest healing arts. Sharing stories help make sense of the insensible.
What are the other benefits of sharing stories?

Hi Michelle – fragmentation seems to be happening everywhere at the moment – we need to stick together and support each other as best we can … with hope for our futures … cheers Hilary

Storytelling is as old as our human race, so it’s part of us and we do need to keep pay attention to those stories or we’ll lose so much of who we are. Happy F Day! Only 20 more letters to go.

We’re so connected now and yet never have we been so apart.

Is it possible that we are afraid to share too much of ourselves? It is hard to know who to trust with our stories. I think that is why so many authors have trouble putting their “babies” out into the world. Still, once we get past the fear and share a bit of ourselves, we may be touching someone else’s heart at a moment they really need it. Are we Fragmented, yes? Can we do something about it, yes? Open our hearts to share, our ears to hear, and our eyes to see that deep inside we are all the same. We are human, we want to love and be loved for who we are. I hope this makes sense. ~ fellow #WATWB member

There is something to that. Common stories used to bind us together. Now, we won’t even study our own country. Sigh.

“Talking story” in Hawaii is an exchange of daily life, entertaining events, sharing your happiness. Listening is such an important tool for making a better world, one less fragmented in personal connections. So sad to see entire groups starring down at electronic devices in their hands while the world moves on.

I’m astounded that so many people are actively trying to divide us. There’s no strength in that. It’s always so refreshing when I see unity of any type anymore.

Stories keep a record of who we are, where we come from, and where we’re going. Stories give us hope and motivation. They are what will survive.

This is a great post. We can all use more good news.
