The Insecure Writer’s Support Group ~ No#20

So it's that time again, the monthly post for the Insecure Writer's Support Group hosted by Alex J. Cavanaugh.

Next week Wednesday, my first piece will be published by Pure Slush, an online magazine. You can check out my author biography and picture which have already been posted on the author pages, as well as a fun questionnaire completed by all contributors.

It's the first piece of work I've ever submitted… and it was accepted! It's been a major boost for me. And I've been on a roll. I've submitted two more pieces to another magazine and I'm in the process of polishing three more for future submission. So we'll see how that goes…

And I've mailed some scenes from my as-yet-unnamed-WIP to two "brainstorming buddies"… I'm quite nervous about that… there's a whole lot going on in those 6,000 odd words. I just hope they can make some sense of it all. But hey, I'm on a roll… so I'm just going to ride this wave…

I'm still an insecure writer. And I'll probably remain insecure BUT I'm an insecure writer who is quite chuffed at this moment… and I'll keep plodding along…

It's given me a great boost… and I'm on a roll at the moment. 🙂

I don't think the insecurities ever stop. My husband thinks spouses of writers need their own support group. lol

Awesome on your publishing success!! Woot! Can't wait to read your story.

    • Michelle Wallace on August 8, 2013 at 4:00 pm

Thanks Mary. I really enjoyed your FF over at Wattpad. I need to give that site a thorough checking out, when I have some time. I've heard that it's a great place to expose work to potential readers… is that true?

  3. Alex J. Cavanaugh on August 7, 2013 at 6:19 pm

Next Wednesday is going to be so awesome!! Glad it's prodded you to submit more often.

Well done on your submission! I need to take a leaf out of your "go for it!" book, no pun intended on the book part 😀

    • Michelle Wallace on August 8, 2013 at 4:07 pm

Trisha, you are such a go-getter and always proactive! You'll be fine. It's probably a temporary slump… hang in there! 🙂

      • Trisha on August 11, 2013 at 11:48 am

Oh, it's true I'm always working on something – I just need to actually submit some of it sometime, which is what I am basically never doing. haha. Thanks though 🙂
