N is for Notebook

Notification! N-Day is here, all you nervous and normal narrators and novelists! This is a noteworthy newsflash to nip and neutralize the negativity of the narrow-minded, non-supportive, nasty naysayers… who had the nerve to say:  never, no ways, it will come to naught and you are all nuts, numbskulls and  nincompoops and not likely to nail the challenge. The notorious A to Z nomads are still navigating new territories and discovering new neighbours!

Ever wondered what books would say if they had the chance to express themselves/air their views?

Well, you are about to find out!

All illustrations are by the talented Mary-An. Check out her website HERE

And now you get to play along! What do YOU think the notebook wants to tell us? Post it in the comment section below. Have fun!

At the end of the challenge, between 02nd and 05th of May, I'm going to announce my favourite "book comment" which will be the one that resonates with me the most!

A REMINDER: the IWSG site will have a corresponding post for each letter/day of the A to Z Challenge so do stop by.

On the Facebook page, a thread will be started for the "letter of the day" and we'd LOVE you to share your A to Z post links on the daily thread – this saves YOU time scrolling through links on the master A to Z sign-up list, especially since people post at different times… some MAY skip letters… dead links etc.

One last thing – don't forget to visit those who stop by your blog!

Good one: spiral out of control. (And, love the word nincompoop.)

Notebook: Come on, tickle my tummy with your tantalizing tales.

hahahahahahahahahaha, books fear no one not even naysayers – they call you a noncompoop to your face if you dare say never.

I think the notebook is telling us about the oodle's and oodles of ideas scribbled onto the pages, and urging us to flesh out one of them into a story. 🙂

    Great post.

"Use me. I'll keep you straight."

I LOVE notebooks. It's been a long time since I actually sat down and used one, but man, there's nothing like those crisp pages…

More! Give me more! Fill me to capacity with your ideas. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

In a neighborhood stationary store, the only mini notebooks left were pink. I bought a couple, and I picture them like, "How could they dye me this girly color… I'm so embarrassed…"

Don't worry, you can write whatever you want on me. I'm not like the snobby handscroll, I'll accept your grocery lists, your to do lists, your crappy handwriting, and doddling what your name would look like if you were married to Brad Pitt. I'm a safe space……

Unless I'm a beautiful leatherbound moleskin, in which case only highbrow philosophical thoughts and quotes from literary masters will do. Written with a fountain pen bien sur.

When you rip out a page, don't leave that annoying little striplet behind.

I loved nincompoop. Reminded me of my grandmother, she used to say that.
Oh how I love my spiral notebooks. If only I could remember which one I wrote what in. I spend a lot of time getting lost in them while looking for something.

It seems very yellow, so perhaps it's come down with Yellow Fever in one of the story ideas jotted within?

I love all your posts! So fun! I just haven't been able to visit as often as I like with work and TheHubs…my energy is drained, my motivation gone. The only thing I could write in my notebook are little swirlies here and there. Sad really.

Hi Michelle .. don't muddle my pages … I'm spiralled enough as it is ..

Good luck with selecting your winners .. this is going to be some choice!   Cheers Hilary

My writer's notebook is undoubtedly pissed at me as I haven't written in it in ages…
