Quadruple Tag Treat…

Over the past two weeks, I've been tagged four times…

The following bloggers are responsible for this quadruple whammy:

1. Margo over at Margo Kelly  – she was tagged 5 times and had a total of 44 questions to answer… phew… that's hectic!

2. Guilie over at Quiet Laughter  and Murees over at Daily Drama Of An Aspiring Writer, with the Lucky 7 Meme
Instructions as follows:

— Go to page 77 of your current WIP
— Go to line 7
— Copy the next 7 lines, AS ARE (no cheating, no tweaking, no polishing for any reason at all) and paste them into a blog post (thus here we are) to share with the world
 — Tag 7 other authors (mwaahahahaaaa!)

3. Elise over at Elise Fallson with the Versatile Bloggers Award

Instructions as follows:

* Share 7 completely random pieces of information about myself.
* Nominate 15 fellow bloggers for The Versatile Blogger Award.
* Inform each nominated blogger of their nomination by posting a comment on each of their blogs.

A thousand thank yous, m'dears *curtseys*
This is equivalent to a Hollywood "red carpet moment"… well, there are similarities… aren't there? Does this mean what I think it means? That I'm getting popular? Attracting more fans? Yes? No? Nothing wrong with wishful thinking… *fingers crossed* (although I've noticed that the networked blog widget remains empty… :()

Since I've been experiencing endless computer and blog related glitches, I'm only responding today. In response to Margo and Elise's tag, here are some random pieces of information:

~~ I've never smoked a cigarette in my life… not one!

~~ I sing (untrained) as well as read, write, play and tutor music… it forms an integral part of who I am…

~~ My main pet peeve is the greasy fingerprints… on the fridge door/handle of kettle/TV remote/computer keys. Simple solution – eat FIRST and then make tea/watch TV/google AFTER…

~~ Wine or beer? Sweet rose when I'm in the mood… beer? Aarrgh! It's gross – I don't understand how it's meant to be a thirst-quencher…

~~ I'm not really a TV/movie fan… there's one local soapie I watch, throw in the singing reality programmes and the odd movie… and that's about it!

~~ There was a time when I was crazy about dolphins… I had a dolphin comforter, dolphin wind chimes, dolphin coasters, dolphin charm bracelet, dolphin display figurines, dolphin-printed tray cloth, dolphin door stopper, mugs etc. (you get the idea…?)

~~ I came face-to-face with an iPad for the FIRST time, about 2 weeks ago… and it seems quite easy to operate (well, new technology gives me the heebie-jeebies…)

~~ I truly believe that INPUT = OUTPUT and this applies to anything that you do in life!

~~ Karma is real – and has nothing to do with religion!

The response to The Lucky 7 Meme proved quite a challenge. You see, the work-in-progress is scattered on various pieces of paper, on notepads, post-it notelets, in notebooks and other scraps of writing material. So it's resulted in a lucky draw… all scraps piled in a heap and eeny-meeny-miny-mo 7 times… voila! This is the 7-line excerpt taken from a still-to-be titled story, which may/may not include this piece, anyway…

The stiff boards of the park bench seemed to dig purposefully into her back. She looked at the girl.

"But they told me that I had no relatives, no family at all!"

The old woman knew better. The evidence was visible. It stared her in the face. It was contained in a simple gesture, a flick of the wrist, twist of the mouth, the undeniable poise…

She took out an envelope… brown manila, standard A4 size. Nothing significant about that. On the cover, in neat square lettering was a single word.

The young girl stared, motionless.

Seconds, or was it minutes, or an hour maybe, passed.

And that's it folks! Since most bloggers have been tagged (some of them four and five times), I'm not going to tag anybody. Just a reminder that there's only ONE week left until April 01, the beginning of the A-Z Challenge! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Lot's of fun facts here!  I, too, was dolphin crazed for a long time and also have gobs of dolphin paraphernalia all over the place.  Very intriguing excerpt!
Also, thank you for the kind word on my blog.

    • michelle on March 25, 2012 at 10:28 pm

Ah, another ex-dolphin fanatic… I can remember getting loads of dolphin-related gifts for my birthday/Christmas… I think I'm over that craze,  but it was a slow process… glad you were intrigued by the excerpt.

  2. Elise Fallson on March 25, 2012 at 11:32 am

Great your answers. Would love to hear you sing… (:
And I really enjoy your excerpt! What was the word in the  envelope??????

Thanks – you will hear me… when you pass this way sometime, then I'll take you to one of my singing gigs.

The word in the envelope? There's a choice of 3 different words, depending on how the plot is going to unfold… 🙂

Interesting excerpt there, I'd like to read more one day!
I tried to do the networked blog thing but it said I had to have a FB account 🙁

  4. michelle on March 25, 2012 at 10:34 pm

Thanks Sarah. I only opened a FB account so that I could access the widget – besides that, I don't have the time or inclination to sit on facebook the whole day. (unless it's for writing-related reasons)

Welcome to my place, Emily. Nice to meet you *waves*

  9. Arlee Bird on March 27, 2012 at 6:32 pm

The bloggers are keeping you busy I see. My middle daughter was into dolphins big time when she was young.  I don't know where that came from, but I don't think she's still that fixated on them.

Yes, they've been keeping me on my toes… 🙂 Well, I'm over the dolphin-phase! Though I'd still love to swim with them… someday…

See you on the A-Z circuit, Lee!

Hey Mish, I want to know what the word was on the paper! Interesting excerpt! I have on just opened a FB account but decided to create a page just showing my book and a short post about me! I also don't have the time to engage myself there. I haven't set up the networked blogs widget yet!
Congrats on your Versatile Blogger Award!

  12. michelle on March 28, 2012 at 9:49 am

I'm not  familiar with Facebook and wouldn't  kinow how to find my way around, but I'll check it out when I have more time, maybe after the A-Z. Thanks C.M

  13. The Golden Eagle on March 28, 2012 at 11:32 am

    Congratulations on the award!

Interesting excerpt. I wonder what it is that shocked the character so much . . .

  14. michelle on March 28, 2012 at 1:04 pm

Thanks Golden Eagle. Discovering family you never knew existed… that's shocking enough…. I'm sure… 🙂

  15. mary aalgaard on March 28, 2012 at 5:44 pm

Great blog, Michelle! Glad you found and followed me. We have some things in common. Write on!

I'm so glad we connected, Mary… yes, we definitely have things in common…  🙂

  17. Crack You Whip on April 1, 2012 at 4:14 am

Interesting tidbits! I think you win the award for being the most dedicated to dolphins! We actually have a pink one over here in Louisiana.  He stays close the other dolphins.  I am sure that is the only way he can survive.
    Eh, I call him  pinky…

    • michelle on April 1, 2012 at 7:58 am

      A pink one? I don't believe you! You're pulling my leg… right? 🙂
