R is for Rainbow…

Welcome to your daily dose of inspiration:
In Darkness Be Light.

Since social media and news in recent times has been filled with so much hate and negativity, these simple reminders aim at promoting positivity and lightening up your day.

Rainbow: It’s a good thing that when God created the rainbow he didn’t consult a decorator or he would still be picking colors.   Sam Levenson

  • Keep your post to below 500 words, as much as possible.

The rainbow is used as a symbol of diversity. That makes perfect sense since it brings together all the colours to make something beautiful and reinforces co-operation, acceptance and harmony. What are your thoughts?

To me, the rainbow symbolizes perfection. It appears after a cleansing rain, signifying the continuing good health of nature. With an all-inclusive reach, it unites everyone in the expanse of its colorful embrace.

Hi Michelle – love the quote … still be picking colours – fun thought!! Rainbows are all arching across the landscape and offer hope when we see them – a new direction .. they are stunning to see – cheers Hilary

I love the story about how the rainbow (called “keshet” in the original Hebrew) is a symbol of how the Divine will never again try to destroy humanity. Keshet is a fairly common name in modern Hebrew, for both sexes.

    Double rainbows are particularly beautiful.

That’s an interesting thought. Still picking colors, eh? 😛

Yes, there has been a lot of negativity on social media lately. I’m planning to take a break after the AtoZ. I didn’t know about this blog hop. Will try to participate next month.

Glad to connect with you during this AtoZ, Michelle. Do visit mine sometime.
    Happy blogging!

I see it as hope–the beauty that comes from a storm. I’ve seen a few over here in California this year.

The rainbow – God’s covenant with Noah after the terrible floods. Definitely a symbol of hope. It’s always verrrry special to see a rainbow, and doubly special to see a double one. And of course here in SA we’re the rainbow nation .. thanks Michelle! Have a lovely weekend!

The rainbow is colourful but also super transient, I’d like something that’s more permanent as a symbol for diversity.

    That is a funny quote!

I’m glad the Lord thought of all the colors – I think He did a pretty good job. 😀
