R is for Recipe Book

Righty-o! Let's rock-'n-roll. But first… rapid revision required. Are you relieved, rattled, or revved up and ready to rendezvous on R-Day? It rushes in and raises the realisation that rest, relaxation, refreshment and rejuvenation are required to recover as the raw and rattled nerves resist… feeling reluctant and resenting the daily ritual. Reminder: responsible posting = rip roaring results. You'll reap the rewards.

Ever wondered what books would say if they had the chance to express themselves/air their views?

Well, you are about to find out!

All illustrations are by the talented Mary-An. Check out her website HERE

And now you get to play along! What do YOU think the recipe book wants to tell us? Post it in the comment section below. Have fun!

At the end of the challenge, between 02nd and 05th of May, I'm going to announce my favourite "book comment" which will be the one that resonates with me the most!

A REMINDER: the IWSG site will have a corresponding post for each letter/day of the A to Z Challenge so do stop by.

On the Facebook page, a thread will be started for the "letter of the day" and we'd LOVE you to share your A to Z post links on the daily thread – this saves YOU time scrolling through links on the master A to Z sign-up list, especially since people post at different times… some MAY skip letters… dead links etc.

One last thing – don't forget to visit those who stop by your blog!

    Hi Michelle!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog this morning! I was so surprised to find Alex's mention of me on his blog. What an honor! I promise I won't be a stranger any more. And I even plan to re-join the IWSG. I've finally found where I belong in this blog world and I'm so thankful to have fantastic blog-friends like you to keep me going, even when I change addresses!!

    Cheers!

Recipe Book says, "I got enough food in here to feed an army!"

The recipe book says, "Why bother? It's not going to turn out well, even if you use me." Maybe that's just me, though!

Spiffle the flour. Kerfuffle the butter. Add a dab of water. Look at my photos, does't it look super easy? Is your dough nice a silky? No?

    You suck at baking.

    (I'm a terrible cook)

Great question! Perhaps: do you really have to spill everything all over me?!

All these great recipies and you can't make any of them because you lack one ingredient in each!

Or is it only our recipe book that says that?

Love the illustraion today, Michelle– and I'm wondering how you keep up with your IWSG duties and AZ!

I'm not easy reading. Don't be fooled by the bulleted lists.

"I know they look delicious, but please do not eat the pages." =) Seriously, some cook books are just cruel.

Visiting on the 21st day of the challenge. Happy to find a fellow writer. The name of your blog is well chosen. A different approach…the journey never ends…lends itself to great posts. After visiting SO many blogs, I appreciate your presentation, focued and readable. There are a whole lot that are neither. Congratulations of your creativity.

If the recipe book were talking directly to me it would say, “Save yourself the time and kitchen disasters and go stock your fridge with frozen meals!” 🙂

    Hey Michelle,

How R U?  Speak to me Michelle,  Hello?  Recipe cook says it's food for thought.  An alternative to Reader's Digest.

I think the recipe book would say "Try page 83 and don't get any egg on me! That stains."

Swear – substituting applesauce tastes just like sugar. *crosses fingers behind back*

My recipe book would say, "NO, Lynda, chocolate is NOT an ingredient in every recipe! And stop substituting ingredients if you're making my recipes for the first time…for visitors."

Actually, my recipe books say a lot of things because I write in them so I remember which ones were worth bothering with again.
