Celebrate The Small Things
It's Friday again, which means it's time to celebrate the small things which is a weekly hop hosted by Viklit over at Scribblings Of An Aspiring Author.

Libraries have always played a role in education, be it a school, academic, public or special library. In the current environment in which we operate, the public library has, for example, largely fulfilled a school library role to fill the gap left by the lack of school libraries. Apart from the “formal” role that libraries play in this arena, they have also always played an informal role in the education of our communities. The concept of lifelong learning is one embodied in all libraries especially public and community libraries. The fact that any person, young or old, rich or poor, employed or unemployed, can walk into a library and find information (in both electronic and traditional formats) to educate and enrich themselves, is one of the major plusses in the favour of libraries.
In our celebrations for South African Library Week 2013, these are some of the areas that we will lay emphasis on and our messages will be adapted accordingly. The inclusion of the word Yourself also places a responsibility on the individual to empower themselves. The theme will also provide us with an opportunity to bring to the attention of the country and our leaders the role that libraries play in educating communities and the nation.

We also celebrated HUMAN RIGHTS DAY yesterday, 21 MARCH.
Human Rights Day is a public holiday in South Africa, giving all citizens the opportunity to reflect on provisions made by the Bill of Rights in the country's constitution, which aims to promote and uphold respect for human rights.

Public and school libraries played such an important part of my life.
Woohoo for Libraries and for Human Rights Day!!! I love libraries. I may have books on my kindle, but when I go to the library and check out books – those are the ones I read first. I just like the feel of a real book in my hands. Libraries are wonderful places!
The library plad a huge role in my life as a child. I treasured my library card! I love books and if I love a particular book I buy it in Hard cover, unless it only come in soft. But I read lots and lots of ebooks. I want a room dedicated to books, my own library.
If you are having problems with the dryer, please get it checked. Mine was drying the clothes to an almost crisp before the fire. Obviously something was wrong, but I chalked it up to me setting the heat too high. I think, now, the motor was getting hotter and hotter and I ignored it. Sorry, I'm a little paranoic now.
There are so many things to celebrate! Love your A-Z theme; ours are very similar. This year's marathon of posts should be fun.
Libraries are so awesome. I am truly grateful to live in a country where public libraries abound. My town (population 90.000) has three public libraries and a great online library where patrons can download free audiobooks and e-books. On a trip to Europe, my family realized how lucky we are with our libraries because so many towns didn't have them there and people would look at us like we were crazy for even asking.
I think libraries are important. Long may they continue. Great quotes, I loved the crayon one in particular.
