The Great & Powerful A to Z Challenge Theme Reveal!

Today is the day where A to Z participants get the opportunity to reveal their themes for the April challenge! This will be my seventh challenge…I only missed the first one.
For me, April is synonymous with the A to Z and I’m looking forward to participating again this year.

*****DRUM ROLL*****

——–presenting my theme for the 2017 challenge———-

                              *****extended drum roll*****

In Darkness Be Light

I’m posting 26 quotes. Since social media and news in recent times has been filled with so much hate and negativity, these simple reminders aim at promoting positivity and lightening up your day. The posts are SUPER SHORT (under 20 seconds to read…)
I’m also linking the challenge to We Are The World Blogfest which seeks to promote positive news. There are many cases of love and light out there, stories that show compassion and the resilience of the human spirit. Sharing these stories increases our awareness of hope in our increasingly dark world.

The IWSG is on the move!
We’re forming a book club on Goodreads. Please join us and invite your friends.
Not on Goodreads?
The IWSG book club is a good reason to join.
 Don’t do much on Goodreads?
This is an excellent way to dip your toes in a little more.
Not enough time in your day?
We read one book every two months.

OUR GOAL: The Insecure Writer’s Support Group (Book Club) is for writers to read/learn about the writing craft. In this book club, we will swap back and forth between non-fiction writing books and fiction books that demonstrate how to do certain aspects of storytelling.

No promo. No review or beta reader requests. Just writers reading books and discussing those books with other writers.

**The first book will be announced on April 1st.**
**The discussion will start on May 17th.**
For more details and to join, click on this link: Book Club

Don’t forget to work on that Twitter Pitch sponsored by IWSG coming in July. Being in the right place at the right time is how many authors find their agent or publisher.

Have you joined the IWSG Goodreads Book Club?
Are you participating in the A to Z Challenge this year? Or will you be cheering from the sidelines?

  26. Yolanda Renee on March 21, 2017 at 12:08 am

I love it, and yes, so very needed. I’m working harder than ever to keep the positive in my world on a daily basis, and the first thing I did was eliminate the television. I’m not avoiding the news as much as I am filling my life with the best instead of the worst. Music, light, and prayer!
    Wishing you all the best!

  27. Denise Covey on March 21, 2017 at 1:02 am

Hi Michy! Your A-Z theme seems doable, not to heavy, not too light. I wish you the best. 🙂

  28. Erika Beebe on March 21, 2017 at 1:57 am

I love your theme. Hope and light are always good themes to put out there to the world. I can’t wait to see your quotes. I haven’t signed up for the Goodreads group yet but I plan to tomorrow. Happy Monday.

Ugh. I’m so tired of all the negativity and fear mongering going on, so I’ll be looking forward to your theme.

  36. Akilah on March 22, 2017 at 2:01 am

I’m doing a similar theme (gratitude!). So I’m totally up for some inspiration.

  37. Tyrean Martinson on March 23, 2017 at 12:30 am

Yes and yes! I didn’t do the theme reveal, but my theme is lost heroes of fantasy fiction to tie in with the Hero Lost IWSG anthology. It’s the first time I’ve tried to promo anything during A to Z so hopefully I don’t annoy anyone – trying to keep the promo side to just once a week.

  38. Nicola on March 23, 2017 at 9:42 am

I am so looking forward to April and a month of positivity. Great theme, Michelle.

I’m not at all prepared to participate in AtoZ this year, so I decided not to do it. Instead, I’ll spend the year getting my photos ready for next year. I’ll be reading your posts, and those of my other favorite bloggers, and continue to post my theater reviews, etc. Cheers!

  41. Anna on March 28, 2017 at 2:52 pm

This sounds like a good theme. So nice and hopeful 🙂

The goodreads book club sounds good too, but I realise I have the nasty habit of ignoring groups in goodreads, so I’ll probably skip that.

  42. J.Gi Federizo on April 4, 2017 at 8:01 am

I am definitely participating right now, Michelle 🙂

  43. Molly on April 4, 2017 at 12:23 pm

    SO much awesomeness here!

First of all… I love your theme and commend you for countering the negativity of this world with a positive message of kindness and compassion. I look forward to reading all 26 entries – what a great way to start the day!

Secondly, I love the IWSG book club concept – and will head over to GoodReads to learn more 🙂
