… and now for the bloghop!

If I had the opportunity to book a time trip, then I'd take a ticket to the time when this lady ruled… maybe as an assistant, like a lady-in-waiting… or in an advisory capacity… (though a fly-on-the-wall option would be the wisest)

                                               CLEOPATRA

Remember we are talking about a woman who, according to historical records:

~was a goddess as a child

~was a queen at 18

~at the height of her power she controlled virtually the entire eastern Mediterranean coast, the last great kingdom of any Egyptian ruler…

~for a fleeting moment held the fate of the Western world in her hands…

~even at a time when female rulers were plentiful, stood out, the sole woman of her world to rule alone…

~was incomparably richer than anyone else in the Mediterranean and enjoyed greater prestige than every other woman of her time!

Can you imagine? And this is everyday, general knowledge. What's lying beneath the surface? What about the unrecorded information? How did she REALLY amass such wealth and power? Imagine witnessing this woman in action… taking a peek into her world… up close and personal?

If you could book a trip back in time, where would you end up?

Ooo that WOULD be awesome! Hangin' with Cleo, doing our nails and chatting. lol What an amazing woman she must've been!

Thank you so much my sistah!  For sharing in this day and lending a hand. You're a star! 😀

  2. Michael Di Gesu on October 16, 2013 at 8:21 pm

Yes, Cleo is a fascinating choice. What I like about her most is she was NO beauty… It's fact… it was her CHARM and acts of seduction that empowered her….

  3. Alex J. Cavanaugh on October 16, 2013 at 10:00 pm

She proved a woman could do it at any point in history.

  4. Crystal Collier on October 16, 2013 at 10:15 pm

I think Cleopatra was Queen Elizabeth's inspiration. 😉

Ancient Egypt kind of scarese me. If I could float through it in an invisible bubble, I would join you, but otherwise, I'll take less dangerous times, thanks. Like the time period where the world is ruled by cheese. Hee hee.

    Michelle,

Cleopatra, for me is one of the most fascinating women in history. Came across an article written about her by another blogger Beverly Deihl. Fascinating stuff. Now, if I had the power, I'd definitely want to meet her!.

  6. Denise Covey on October 17, 2013 at 2:12 am

Cleopatra was amazingly liberated for a woman in 'those' days. Good for her, having all that charm and mesmerising the guys. Girl power all right! Great idea, Michelle!

    • Michelle Wallace on October 19, 2013 at 1:08 pm

PK ~ Yes, hanging with Cleo and being in her favour sounds good… definitely don't wanna be on the flip side…

Michael ~ A charming seductress? She was a wily woman, all right!

Alex ~ For that specific long-ago era, it's simply amazing…

      Crystal ~ A cheesy era? Sounds not-so-dangerous… less complicated…

Joy ~ Yes, she's really fascinating.

Denise ~ Talk about liberation and woman power! I wonder what's the real secrets, the one's we have no knowledge of?

  7. krystal jane on October 17, 2013 at 4:07 am

I would totally love to spy on Cleopatra!! Great choice! 😀

I'm loving that book concept! A Time Travel Agency is so very, very cool. The cover is awesome, all well. It's really nice. I'm adding this to my reading list. You know something is going to go horrible wrong. I can't wait!

  8. Donna Hole on October 17, 2013 at 5:00 am

I agree; oh to be a fly on the wall. Or a favored slave.

    ………dhole

  9. Tina Downey on October 17, 2013 at 12:16 pm

What a really great idea!  Can I come with you?

  10. Julie Flanders on October 17, 2013 at 3:23 pm

Oh what a great choice! Now I want to go to meet Cleopatra too. 🙂

    Yay for PK!

  11. Suze on October 17, 2013 at 4:35 pm

I've been seeing PK's book all over the sphere. It's such a great idea, too!

  12. Carol Kilgore on October 17, 2013 at 5:49 pm

I would like to meet Cleopatra, but not in her Egypt. Someplace neutral. I wonder how she would fare here in the 21st Century? Likely she'd teach the boys a thing or two. Go, Cleo!

    • Michelle Wallace on October 19, 2013 at 1:14 pm

Krystal ~ We could learn soooooo much from her!

Donna ~ A favored slave? Sounds risky… if you fall out of favor, then what? A fly-on-the-wall sounds safe.

Tina ~ I could do with the company…

Julie ~ You're welcome. The more the merrier…

Suze ~ Are you also joining the group? We're off to see Cleo in all her glory…

Carol ~ Hey, now that's an idea… meet her on our territory… in the 21st C…

  13. joylene on October 17, 2013 at 6:13 pm

You want to know something weird? The blurb reminds me of Yul Brynner. How weird is that!

  14. Nicki Elson on October 17, 2013 at 9:41 pm

Seeing her in action would be most amazing.

This is a very cool cover. Congrats to PK!

  15. Lexa Cain on October 18, 2013 at 6:28 am

Well, you know I'm gonna LOVE your choice. Egypt and the pharaohs are too cool. 🙂

Huge congrats to PK on her stunning cover! I adore it!

  16. M. J. Joachim on October 18, 2013 at 3:02 pm

I'd probably be traveling back in time for the rest of my life…so many things to see, explore and do back then. Oh, but then I might miss out on the here and now…balance is key, I suppose.

  17. Mary on October 18, 2013 at 3:45 pm

She'd be a really interesting person to meet, Michelle. Have you ever read Margaret George's Cleopatra? Great read. Hope you have a marvelous weekend. I can't wait until PK's book comes out. I'm eager to read it.

  18. Michelle Wallace on October 19, 2013 at 1:19 pm

    Joylene ~ Bald-headed Yul Brynner? You've lost me…

Nicki ~ It would be spectacular!

Lexa ~ You are already connected to Cleo… you're soooo lucky!

MJ ~ You're right, there are too many places/events to visit… but if you had to choose one, what would it be?

    Mary ~ No I haven't. I need to write it down…

  19. Julie K Pick on October 19, 2013 at 5:08 pm

I like Carol's idea about meeting Cleopatra in the "21st Century." She would be fun to have a Frappuccino with. Congrats to PK!

  20. Penny on October 19, 2013 at 8:37 pm

Oh my, human MIchelle, trying to comment on your blog is quite difficult for my paws.  Can you walk like an Egyptian?  Oh, by the way, you can slow down time by hanging around really large objects.  Try this at the Pyramids.  I'm going to book my human on a flight with "Astral Travel."

    Pawsitive wishes,

Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! 🙂

  21. tammy theriault on October 19, 2013 at 9:43 pm

i would so run around wearing the robe and asking them to please do my eyeliner very cat like!

  22. Medeia Sharif on October 19, 2013 at 10:12 pm

I'd love to visit many ancient times. Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, etc.

Yay for PK. I love her cover.

  23. Michelle Wallace on October 20, 2013 at 7:47 am

Julie ~ I know about cappuccino… but frappuccino… will have to check it out… sounds like a funky, jazzed up version of cappuccino (whatever that means LOL)

Penny ~ Walk like an Egyptian? Great song! It IS a song, hey? Yep, it is… so that means, yes, I can walk that walk and I can also sing that song!

Tammy T ~ Ooh yes, the eyeliner trick… love it!

Medeia ~ There are so many lovely sites to visit in the ancient world…

  24. Lynda R Young on October 21, 2013 at 6:15 am

There's a wonderful fascination with all things Egypt. I'd love to visit and see what it was really like.

  25. Beverly Fox on October 21, 2013 at 2:58 pm

What a great premise PK has thought up!  Color me intrigued!

  26. Michelle Wallace on October 22, 2013 at 7:45 am
