V is for Victor Standish Must Die
Welcome to the annual A to Z Challenge.
My theme: showcasing bloggers books, novellas, short story collections, poetry collections and some non-fiction books. The letters of the alphabet will correspond with the book title. I’ll be posting a link to my review of each book. I also have two questions for the author, just to spice things up a little.
Hopefully, visitors to my blog will be able to increase their reading lists and also get ideas for their wish lists.
Victor Standish Must Die by Roland Yeomans. Read my review HERE.
Genre/Category: It’s a primer of sorts for the Artful Dodger of the French Quarter. It is part urban fantasy with echoes of The Walking Dead merged with paranormal romance at the end.
The book character you want to have coffee with is: If it is one of my characters, it would be Samuel McCord: he has seen so much, staying kind and becoming wise. Other authors’ characters? It would have to be Meyer, friend of Travis McGee in the John D. MacDonald series of novels. Meyer is stunningly intelligent, yet wise and kind. Hey, I see a pattern here.
What would you name the autobiography of your life? If You Don’t See Me Writing, Then You Know I’m Dead.
One lucky winner will receive an e-book of Victor Standish Must Die. Please leave an e-mail address after your comment by Thursday 28th April, if you wish to be entered in the giveaway. Winners will be announced on Friday 29th April.
If your autobiography included the word ‘writer’ or ‘writing’, then what would the title be? Only four more posts? Are you hanging in there?
Hi Michelle – good that you’re highlighting Roland and Victor Standish ….I like Roland’s autobiographical name … I must settle and read Roland’s books – I have them here …
The collectable (or is it collectible) curiosities of Hilary – I’d dream up something more enticing than that … cheers and off to get my thinking cap on … Hilary
I hope you enjoy them when you pick a few to read. 🙂
Already have my copy.
Coffee with McCord, Mark Twain, and Freud – now that would be funny.
Wouldn’t it?
Roland is a prolific blogger and writer. I need to read one of his works. mary.aalgaard at yahoo.com.
If writer were in my autobiography title: Playwright, and writer of stories and article.
Mary, “The Not-So-Innocents Abroad” is coming soon to Kindle. That book would be a nice place to start. 🙂
Looks like a ghastly book! Am hanging in with the challenge 🙂 Hard to believe the month is almost over!
betty
I’m hanging in. Hmmmm, my autobiography title would be WRITING FOR MY LIFE.

I don’t think my biography would have writer in the title. I’m counting down the days.

Here is another book going on my TBR list at Goodreads. I’ve just taken the time to find out a little bit more about goodreads and realize that I don’t have to make a booklist anymore. Just put them on my TBR list there.
I’m enjoying your book presentations greatly.
Visiting from the A to Z Blog Challenge.
Shalom,
Patricia @ EverythingMustChange
Thanks, Patricia.
Thanks, Michelle! You are very kind to do this. Victor sends a wink your way, while dodging a jealous Alice out to crack his shin for doing so. 🙂 Samuel McCord tips his’ Stetson to you. Yes, it does seem odd that the challenge is about over. Having coffee with the ghost of Mark Twain would be cool, wouldn’t it?
LOL – hope we don’t see you dead then.
Dead and me do not get along! 🙂
I haven’t read any of Roland’s books. Toss my name in the mix! Jessyferguson (at) gmail (dot) com.
I love the A to Z Challenge! My fav time of the year. ? My autobiography is called The Loosey Goosey Writer!
Hope you win!
Right now, my autobiography would be called, “When’s the Write Time?” because I am constantly in a balance battle with finding time and energy for writing in the midst of working full-time.
In between the coffee, he wrote.
That’s a good title.
I’ve just recently connected with Roland, but I have to say the way he thinks fascinates me. I will be reading his writing.
As to am I hanging in there? Just.
Lee, it has been quite the chore this year for me to finish the challenge. Thankfully, the ghosts of Mark Twain and Freud helped me out! I even managed to write 9 whole pages to the sequel to INNOCENTS! Hang in there, Roland
Oh, Lee, I sent you the audible book of DEATH IN THE HOUSE OF LIFE with Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, and Nikola Tesla in 1895 Cairo. I hope you like it. 🙂
Love the title!
Thanks!
Roland’s posts are fascinating! His books must be too. Would love to read Death in the House of Life sometime. Sadly it’s not available in the place I am at 🙁
Still hanging in there.
The autobio title would be – Breathe. Write. Be.
I can’t believe there are only a few more posts to go! The month has just whizzed by. It’s been fun, just like last year.
