V is for Vintage Viewpoint

Day 22 of the challenge!

My theme is NIFTY NUGGETS. Little nuggets of writing based on a photo, a phrase and an object, which is designed to encourage lean, tight writing. I’m aiming for a word count of under 300 words.

Thank you to L.Diane Wolfe for providing the beautiful photo prompts.  You can visit her blog to check out more pictures.

VINTAGE VIEWPOINT

VINTAGE VIEWPOINT

PHRASE – movers and shakers

OBJECT – classroom

Am I a modern soul? No.

I’m not too sure that I’m an old soul either. Too much pressure with wisdom and all that jazz.

But, a vintage soul. That I am.

Intent on capturing the nostalgia of a lost era when neither me nor my parents existed. It’s a time sans the beep of smartphones or the colourful, idyllic life often displayed by HD big screens.

My vintage profile?

Vintage dress addiction. Guilty.

Music on vinyl. Guilty.

Half of my Pandora stations pre-1970. Yep, guilty.

Outbursts of “jeepers creepers” in my classroom last week. Guilty again.

Pretending to live in another time via fiction. So guilty.

Presented with a once-in-a-life time ‘vintage’ window of opportunity means that I have to shift my lens, adopt a new mindset, make some life-style adjustments…

As a self-proclaimed mover and shaker, I have secured a coveted spot in the upcoming Vintage Reality Show.

It’s the ultimate coup.

A vintage victory.

She sounds like a good fit for the show.

I can’t imagine living that vintage.

Vintage viewpoint so well presented. Sadly, though I pretend to be vintage, i’m creeping toward veteran. 🙂

      A good response using the V-words! 😀

Very interesting take on the vintage viewpoint. I wouldn’t want to live in another time period, but I do share some of your vintage guilty areas such as clothing and vinyl records.

I think everybody has a ‘touch’ of vintage in their lifestyle/character/personality… whether they realise it or not… 🙂

She and that show are made for each other. Reading this I realised I might be guilty of being a bit vintage too 🙂

Yep, I think that on close examination, each person will discover that ‘hint’ of vintage.
I do believe that it exists in each one of us, in one way or another… 🙂

I love the word “vintage.” It’s so elegant.

My husband is a computer programmer. Recently he ran across a want ad for a “vintage” programmer…turns out that’s what he is now!

Vintage . . . just how old is it if it includes vinyl?

Great flash! Love the characterization. 🙂

Hi Michelle – a vintage victory for you … well done – I’m definitely not vintage – age wise yes … but doing no … cheers Hilary

I had to laugh at your reference to ‘age wise’… 😀

Vintage anything captures my heart. I’ve really enjoyed your teamwork, ladies. Lovely words from Michelle. Lovely images from Diane. Great theme.

Reading that made me realize some of my tastes could be called vintage. Great picture to fit as usual.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 28, 2015 at 7:02 pm

      Thanks Susan!
As I said before, each individual has a little ‘vintage’ tucked away… whether you’re aware of it or not…
