X is for Xenia Orchidacea

X marks the spot… that's all I can say. I have xero fancy words for this post… sorry…

*beep* *beep*

What's that sound you ask? Brain on the blink…

Ever wondered what books would say if they had the chance to express themselves/air their views?

Well, you are about to find out!

But wait! What is xenia orchidacea? I won't send you to wikipedia, because you will be even more confused. LOL. Quite simply, it's a book in 3 volumes about the study of orchids. Just trust me. It's less complicated this way and by now, your brains are already "mushy"… no need to add to the discomfort…

And now you get to play along! What do YOU think the xenia orchidacea wants to tell us? Post it in the comment section below. Have fun!

At the end of the challenge, between 02nd and 05th of May, I'm going to announce my favourite "book comment" which will be the one that resonates with me the most!

A REMINDER: the IWSG site will have a corresponding post for each letter/day of the A to Z Challenge so do stop by.

On the Facebook page, a thread will be started for the "letter of the day" and we'd LOVE you to share your A to Z post links on the daily thread – this saves YOU time scrolling through links on the master A to Z sign-up list, especially since people post at different times… some MAY skip letters… dead links etc.

ONLY 2 posts left… almost there…

Orchids: The beautiful parasite. Wait aren't they symbiotic? No no no, I heard most are epiphytes… living "on top of the plant."

An orchid book – how cute! I figured everyone would do Xena Warrior Princess. In honor of her, I say the book is actually hollow and hiding a poisoned dagger, ready to be whipped out and used by the assassin who's "reading" it. 😉

    Hi, Michelle!

Since I'm having exploratory surgery, I crammed the last four letters together.

    Hugs and chocolate!

A whole book about orchids! Must be magical. I like L. Diane's. Lol! Or maybe it blows a sleeping draft in your face when you're done!

    Hey Michelle,

Yes, you've been waiting for a comment from me.  RIght?

Arrgghhhhh!  You keep reminding me that even on Farcebook and that IWSG has reminders of this ridiculous challenge!  HELP! 🙂

Three volumes about orchids?  What volume?  Low, medium and high?  Anyway, my Princess of Glib, happy alphabeting.  A to Z.  RIP.

    Gary 🙂

I think the book would say "Yes, there is enough about Orchids that can take up three volumns. I'm offended you would say otherwise."

Books to prospective buyer: "You can read us, build a suitable greenhouse, buy the necessary food and misting system OR find an orchid in full bloom at Trader Joe's and replace it every few month. Your choice, buddy."

Volume 1: How to not kill your orchid

    Volume 2: Those aren't tentacles, they're roots

    Volume 3: It's not dead, it's napping

I love the way the post goes 🙂

I've killed so many orchids, clearly what I was missing was the Xenia Orchidacea in my life!

"If you want to look after an orchid you must mist it at 13 minutes past midnight with evian water mixed with the tears of a virgin crocodile. You must sing to it, pet it, and let it tell you all of its problem for it is a neurotic flower and if it cannot download its issues onto you, it will die from neurosis overdose.

And even if you do all this the orchid flowers will all drop so that you're just left with what looks like a twig. And then you'll wonder why you bought one in the first place, and trade it in for a cactus."
