B is for Be Kind…

Welcome to your daily dose of inspiration:
In Darkness Be Light.

Since social media and news in recent times has been filled with so much hate and negativity, these simple reminders aim at promoting positivity and lightening up your day.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. Plato

Would you like to be a part of spreading positivity? Check out the We Are The World Blogfest, which aims at promoting positive news. Here’s the shortened version:

  • Keep your post to below 500 words, as much as possible.
  • All we ask is you link to a human news story on your blog on the last Friday of each month, one that shows love, humanity, and brotherhood. Something like this news, about a man who only fosters terminally ill children.
  • Join us on the last Friday of each month in sharing news.

Quite often, we tend to undermine the hardships of others and project our own sufferings to be the greatest in the world.
What is the simplest act of kindness you’ve ever witnessed, or know of, or maybe been a recipient of?

Michelle, I’m torn with wanting to take part in this blogfest, but I must not, especially in April. I’ll hook up in May. I’ve been visiting posts and really enjoying them. 🙂

    Likewise, Denise!

Perfect strangers have been kind to me from teenage onwards, Michelle, more examples than I can put down here. And right now there is so much suffering out there in the world that it’s impossible for me to feel hard done by.

This is a totally heartwarming bloghop!

    Nila.

Found you via the A to Z challenge. My very simple way to be kind is to smile and say hello to people I pass in the street!

Hi Michelle – Be kind … such a great short and very pertinent phrase … we don’t know how other people are faring … being kind helps in all circumstances … I’m in with WATWB …and the 19th April … cheers and I will be kind – Hilary

There is so much kindness in the world, but we must look for it and appreciate it more. The bad ‘stuff’ tends to overshadow the good. I love the blog idea. How wonderful. Thank you for sharing this positive message – and on my birthday too 🙂 Have a lovely week.

Yes! So simple, yet so important.

And we don’t know what other people are going through, so be kind.

It’s so easy to be kind. And it feels better.

I try to treat everyone the way I would want to be treated. It takes nothing to be kind. Hold a door, pick up something they dropped. A smile. I think some people are forgetting how to do this – they jump immediately into attack mode. Love this post. Happy Monday!

It takes so little to BE KIND and yet, lately it seems as though society is purposely promoting meanness and negativity. So sad…

The older I get, the more I realize everyone IS fighting their own battles. Who needs judgemental people. Thanks for this reminder.

Very true. The possibility exists that if someone is kind to another that it could get passed along the line. Maybe, even go out in waves like a ripple effect.

Oh, I didn’t realize this was an ongoing hop! I totally misunderstood and thought it was a one day thing and I wasn’t able to take part at that time. But maybe now I will join in, it’s a wonderful idea.
Wonderful quote as well and it reminds me of another favorite of mine: “Whenever possible, be kind. It is always possible.” Dalai Lama.
