BLOGFEST ~ WHY I WRITE …

For this post , I have decided to focus on ONE of the reasons why I write . It's all about WORDS !

I love words ! Words have feel … sound … nuances … texture …

I love the many facets of words ~ the push and pull … the ebb and flow … the literal and figurative … the foreign and familiar … clarity and ambiguity … evocative and provocative … I could go on and on …

Words have a life of their own ! They can elevate you to dizzy heights and then drop you to the depths of despair . Such is the power of words !

Thank you to kaylene  http://kayeleenscreations.blogspot.com for hosting this exciting blogfest !!!

I love the little word pyramid you did there!  Especially the way they are precariously balanced at the tip (much like my own words, on the page.  Precarious.)
Words in general are as delicious as strawberries, IMO.  Nice post.

Great post. Very succinct. Words are so weird, aren't they? The ability to convey our ideas so specifically, to put an abstract concept into someone else's head? It could blow your mind…glad you appreciate this 🙂

Absolutely ~ I know exactly what you’re saying ! And it IS amazing ~ words can make or break … 🙂

Oh I do agree Bev ~ words are as delicious as strawberries , as fulfilling as bananas & some are as exotic as lychee !

I totally agree with you.  I love words.  The number of times I see a word and think "Ooh, gotta remember that one!'  But dammit, I always forget when I'm back at my keyboard.  Need a better mental scratchpad I think.

*laughs* I know what you mean ! There’s a specific word that fits every emotion / mood / scenario … We never stop learning new words … and for me , certain words have a distinct aural appeal !

Great reason. Choosing the right word is part of our craft. It wasn't until I studied linguistics that I became aware of the intricate nuances a single word can have. I enjoyed reading your post.

I also studied a little linguistics in my undergrad years and from there I just fell in love with the nuances of words ! Thanks for the visit !

I'm pretty much in love with words, too.
I like snarky and grumble and haughty and slimey and perpetual

Awesome ! I love incandescent (has such an aural appeal …!) and nostalgia and edgy and de-ja vu …..
