BOTTLED UP HUMOUR …
This is in response to Victoria's Monday Morning Writing Prompt.
Let’s take a break this week from the sense of impending doom and have some fun. I invite you to write and submit a short story, essay or poem that touches on humor. Let’s work hard to make each other smile or laugh.
I've decided to go with a light-hearted flash fiction piece I wrote earlier this year. Enjoy !
Each bottle craved the coveted central position in the bar.
"I should be given first preference !" Mr. Scotch Whiskey silenced everyone.
"It doesn't really matter," purred Madame Chardonnay, "as long as I'm kept away from direct sunlight." Inwardly, she shuddered at the thought of being in close proximity to the loud, foul-mouthed Don Juan Tequila.
"What's the fuss ? I deserve it !" he drawled, winking at the hardened Sir Guinness Stout. The tall, elegant Chardonnay peered down at his short, squat, stumpy frame.
Without warning, the pompous Monsieur Cognac, resplendent in a baccarrat crystal bottle emerged from a red velvet box.
It was game over !

Great characterization! Now I'll never look at those bottle in the same way. Fun post, Mish, and I'm so glad you joined us.
It was a nice change from my recent posts which have been mostly dark and dreary. Thanks for the fun challenge, Victoria.
Oh, how cute–very creative, Mish. I really enjoyed that.
Thanks for visiting, Gayle. I also enjoyed your “peacock-story”.

I try to stretch the imagination as much as possible… it’s amazing what creativity can be unleashed when the ‘creative juices’ are flowing.
Thanks Isadora. 🙂
