Crikey! It's C-Day! Come, come, come… join the cool conversation my creative counterparts! Are we not a crazy collection of clever creatures?

Caveat: continued commitment to this challenge will lead to a celebratory conclusion… so blog on! Have to cut the chit-chat due to chronometrical constraints. Cheers!

The word for Day 3 is—–

                                 CASTRAMETATION

A unique form of castration which includes specialised products as well as a highly specialised meditative process in which the mind leaves the body, resulting in total absence of physical awareness so that the patient remains oblivious to his surroundings…

That one's disturbing! I picture being castrated before being cremated, and that is just messing with my head.

I know… I know… well, I did want bloggers to be as creative as possible…  to stretch the imagination…  🙂

It's one word to summarize a nightmare situation.

CASting yourself on a slow driving TRAM driver's mercies, trying to make him speed up so that its ETA is soon enough that you're not late at the staTION.

It's when the entire cast of a play, say…Coffee Shop Confessions, completely loses it in rehearsal and laughs their fool heads off!

I'd love to be a part of Coffee Shop Confessions "castrametation moments"! Sounds like fun!

Interesting choice of a word for "C". I have to admit it sounds painful 😉 yet at the same time oddly peaceful. Thanks for visiting my blog in December. I'm doing the challenge as well so happy Blogging A to Z. If you'd like to, drop by my blog sometime at http://www.dianeweidenbenner.com

    • Michelle Wallace on April 3, 2013 at 2:32 pm

Painful and peaceful. Sort of contradictory? I'll stop by your place shortly! 🙂

love it… cannot say it, but i am loving it!

Hey Mr. Zombie, it's good to see you here! Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Julie on April 3, 2013 at 5:08 pm

Uh oh, I think I have it.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 3, 2013 at 8:58 pm

O-k-a-y. You have it? Is it physical? Emotional? Psychological?

      • Julie on April 4, 2013 at 8:49 am

I'm in a state of oblivion from lack of sleep, so all of the above.

  8. Guilie on April 3, 2013 at 5:32 pm

You guys… I'm appalled at your poor vocabulary. CASTRAMETATION is the philosophical trend, very popular in 1960s US, in which pseudo-socialist beliefs were thought to cause changes in said believers' appearance and made them somewhat resemble Fidel Castro. Seriously. Everyone knows this 😀

    • Michelle Wallace on April 3, 2013 at 9:00 pm

Wow! Talk about the power of positive thinking. 🙂

  9. Sonnia J. Kemmer on April 3, 2013 at 5:42 pm

I totally thought it was all about castrating someone and meditating on them. *cringe*

    *laughs*

Trying to soothe the wounded spirit…? Something along those lines? *chuckles*

Ok, I was so curious about this word that I cheated and went on dictionary.com to look it up. So NOT what I was expecting this word to mean! I love the alternate definitions in the comments — very creative.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 3, 2013 at 9:07 pm

Yes, the actual meaning is a far cry from the variety of definitons posted here.

  11. Tracy on April 3, 2013 at 5:59 pm

Hey, isn't this the latest song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Hearing it to the tune of 'Californication'. They wrote it after visiting a farm filled with genetically engineered male sheep. Love this post. Thanks a bunch for visiting my blog!

    • Michelle Wallace on April 3, 2013 at 9:08 pm

Red Hot Chilli Peppers is such a great band! Great definition, Tracy.

  12. Clarissa Draper on April 3, 2013 at 7:49 pm

I'm with Alex. The first thing I thought of was being castrated and meditating on why that was a bad idea after the fact.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 3, 2013 at 9:10 pm

LOL. The moments of regret experienced after the procedure…?

  13. M. J. Joachim on April 3, 2013 at 7:52 pm

    Clever, curious, crazy! 🙂

  14. Carol Kilgore on April 3, 2013 at 7:54 pm

Castramentation – A process used in making red wine. The liquid is allowed to sit in large cast iron pots for several hours before being poured into the wooden barrels for aging and fermentation.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 3, 2013 at 9:12 pm

Where can we get hold of that wine? Thanks for popping in Carol. I know you have a BUSY week! 🙂

  15. Carol Kilgore on April 3, 2013 at 7:55 pm

Forgot to say I love your new look!

  16. Lara Lacombe on April 3, 2013 at 10:48 pm

Castramentation [n]: to be cut off from the community; to be exiled

  17. Elise Fallson on April 3, 2013 at 11:22 pm

Castramentation: a device that measures the level of magic in spells.

    😀

    • Michelle Wallace on April 4, 2013 at 2:14 pm

Probably used by witches/wizards/sorcerers…? Interesting! Very Harry Potter-esque… and btw, I haven't read a single one of those stories…

  18. J.L. Campbell on April 3, 2013 at 11:50 pm

…And then, he wakes up to find he has body parts missing. 😉

  19. Nancy LaRonda Johnson on April 5, 2013 at 2:00 am

Okay, you had to bring a word like this out! Well, I've got to tell the truth.

Castrametation is when a dumb blonde suddenly acts very smart and figures out a complicated situation when no one else could. Sort of like when Rose in The Golden Girls knew how to tell which dog was Dryfus. What happens is that the cellular brain cells of everyone else get casted into the dumb blonde's brain through some type of augmentation or osmosis.
