Celebrate + Sisterhood + Tree Of Life Collaboration

treeoflife_branchingout_badgeITS CELEBRATION TIME!

Welcome to the TREE OF LIFE: Branching Out collaborative writing challenge, where creative minds meet epic movie music. To read the collective story in its entirety as it unfolds and for more details on this groundbreaking collaboration with Audiomachine click HERE.

For those of you who are in the dark about this project, The Tree of Life is the truly inspired brainchild of Samantha Redstreake Geary collaborating with Audiomachine whose Tree of Life album was released Tuesday July 16.  Guest writers have been preselected to participate in this collaborative writing project. These writers, representative of all writing genres, and from all across the globe, will contribute their own 150 word excerpt (word count is flexible) to a continuing story, collectively written over the course of 26 days. How cool is that? And I have been invited to be a part of this collaboration.

Each of the 26 writers will find inspiration in a featured composition from the motion picture music production house, Audiomachine’s new TREE OF LIFE album. These clever masters of the craft will spin the story in whatever direction they choose, picking up where the previous writer left off, resulting in the ultimate collaborative tale.

Go HERE for more details.

Isn't this an awesome award? It was passed along by Murees Dupe from Daily Drama Of An Aspiring Writer. She is such a down-to-earth and sweet lady. Thank you Murees. I don't have to do anything except share this award with 10-12 other female bloggers. There are sooooo many kick-ass bloggers whose blogs I really enjoy, so this is quite difficult…

So here are the 12 awesome ladies——————– if you haven't visited their blogs before, I encourage you to check them out!

This week I'm celebrating the following:

~ Writing: My story is dragging along… BUT I'll be sending off some story snippets to one or two 'brain-storming-buddies' and I'm sooooo nervous…

~ Reading: I completed the second instalment of a space opera story which is part of a series… the world-building is amazing… I don't know how sci-fi/fantasy writers come up with these ideas… it boggles my brains…

~ I celebrated my birthday on Wednesday… nothing too fancy… I wanted to keep it simple… anyway, I'm getting too old for big parties. LOL

~ Happy 95th birthday to Madiba on Thursday (yes, we're one day apart…)

So what have you been celebrating? Please share with us! It's already Saturday and this post is one day late. I'm off to enjoy some "winter sunshine" and will catch up later with blog visits as well as reading/writing activities… so enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Nothing brings more joy than peer recognition, Michelle! Thank you so much – I am truly honored. 🙂 That's such a pretty button too!

Incidentally, as soon as I received Viklit's latest post by email, I headed over to your place as both your emails arrive together (coincidence!) but this post wasn't up yet. 😀 (So, yes, there are benefits to stalking!)

Happy birthday! No age is too old to celebrate!

By the way, I am participating in the Tree of Life collaborative writing challenge. Such a fabulous idea!

I've been a bit quiet for the past few days, thanks to toothache 😀 – slowly returning to my routine. I've had a good time though – offline rocks!

    Hugs! And thanks again!

And happy birthday! Yea, I'm to the point I don't want to make a big deal out of it. Unless presents are involved of course.

Yay! You're going to add to the Tree of Life. Me too. In August. OMG how am I going to bring this story around so I make sense and add something of value to it? Guess we'll find out.

  11. Lexa Cain on July 20, 2013 at 9:03 pm

Woohoo! Happy Birthday and I hope you had an awesome day and got lots of presents! Iknow what you mean about SF — I adore reading it, but the world-building has to be so detailed, logical, and technical that I know it's too much for me to write. Congrats on your SF installments! Keep up the progress. 🙂

  12. Carol Kilgore on July 20, 2013 at 9:39 pm

Hey a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY  to you sistah! Right on right on! Or should I say, write on write on! 😀

Thank you kindly for the award and I shall display it with honor upon my blog. Congrats on yours as well. Very much deserved, I might add.

I know that feeling when the story feels like it's dragging. Ugh. I'm dragging thru revisions right now and getting a bit muddled on some mega rewrites. Wah!

Here's sending you some writing mojo, and hoping it boomerangs right back to me with some much needed good karma. Thanks so much for thinking of me!! 😀

    ((hugs))

I'm ever so sorry that it has taken me thing long to arrive and leave one of my highly collectable comments.  Or something like that.  Indeed, the Tree of Life collaboration is quite the amazing endeavour.  Wishing those involved in the ongoing story, muc fulfilment and interaction.

Congrats on the award and to all those you bestowed it upon.  Sisters, evidently, are doing it for themselves.

Sorry I missed your birthday.  Thus a very belated happy birthday.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Gary 🙂
