D is for Don’t Look Down…

Welcome to your daily dose of inspiration:
In Darkness Be Light.

Since social media and news in recent times has been filled with so much hate and negativity, these simple reminders aim at promoting positivity and lightening up your day.

Don’t look down on somebody unless you are helping them up.  Jesse Jackson

Would you like to be a part of spreading positivity? Check out the We Are The World Blogfest, which aims at promoting positive news. Here’s the shortened version:

  • Keep your post to below 500 words, as much as possible.
  • All we ask is you link to a human news story on your blog on the last Friday of each month, one that shows love, humanity, and brotherhood. Something like this news, about a man who only fosters terminally ill children.
  • Join us on the last Friday of each month in sharing news.

It’s easy sometimes to look at others and think that you could do much better than them, put in the same situation. When we observe that particular challenge, we only know what we THINK we would do, not what we WOULD do.
Do you agree?

Yes, I do agree. You can never predict your reactions unless you are faced with a particular situation. It’s easy to be brave in theory. Quite different when it comes to the real thing.

Your quote today is one I love.

You can never actually know what you would do in a given situation unless you are in it.

We all tackle our problems in different ways. Not to mention it’s impossible to know what people are going through, beyond what one observes. Compassion is key.

We should always be open to a deeper understanding of others. We don’t have all the answers.

This one is so lost in today’s world. Don’t look down, cousin to Don’t judge. I’ve taken to avoiding people who do either. I’m not mean; I just can let them bring me down.

Thanks for the wonderful initiative for the #WATWB, Michelle! I’ve been away since the weekend, but am back now and reading and sharing all your AZ posts!

Lovely quote–we live in a world where it is so easy to pass judgments on social media– we all need to remember not to look down on anyone.
