The drabble challenge is a weekly challenge hosted by Aheila on her blog : http://thewriteaholicblog.wordpress.com A reminder how it works : read the prompt and find your angle ; write a drabble (100 word story , give or take 5 words) ; post a direct link to the drabble in your comments .

Poised and waiting . Throw caution to the wind . Ignore the many voices in your head , telling you that it is utter madness . A twinge of doubt . A fractional hesitation as a thousand thoughts play havoc with your mind . What ifs ? Maybes … Spontaneity wins the day . An adrenaline fuelled impulse drives you . Push everything aside and take the plunge . Indulge in a careless disregard . A moment of wildness , unrestraint . Recklessness your ally in these seconds of freedom . Terra firma rises up to meet you . You hurtle forward to make its acquaintance . At the last minute , you are snatched away .
The thrill…the heady fall, low is high…all packaged in a few words!
I would imagine that this is the feelings/emotions experienced by an adrenaline-junkie .
Not using the word "abandon" here was a great choice, M! Describing the feeling instead is an artful device that really served to involve the reader. Awesome!!
I didn’t make a conscious decision to omit the word … you are right though … it draws the reader into the moment
Thanks R !
