DRABBLE CHALLENGE ~ GHOST

The drabble challenge is a weekly challenge , hosted by Aheila on her blog : thewriteaholicblog.wordpress.com

A reminder how it works : read the prompt and find your angle ; write a drabble ( 100 word story , give or take 5 words ) ; post a direct link to the drabble in your comments . I have fallen behind with my drabble writing and need to make up . So here goes …

* * * * * *

"It's been too long , Slade ," the all-too-familiar voice . He stood speechless , incapable of movement A chill enveloped him .

"I saw your body … ," barely a whisper , " they carried it … moved it to the side … ," shock set in , " … blood everywhere …," incomprehension reduced speech to a distinct mumble . It was impossible , senseless .

"We have some … unfinished business ?" a low throaty chuckle ensued . The apparition shimmered and floated before him . He shook his head .

"Deny it all you want ," the ominous tone pierced his senses , "but THIS is the reminder !" the glinting object thrust before his eyes shattered the remnants of his rational mind .

Hey Mish!
I'm glad you caught up with the drabble challenges. Fun fact, your comment containing the link to this story is actually the 3,000th comment on my blog! 😉
I like your story. It's complete (beginning, middle, end) but hints at a profound relationship between the characters that leaves us to fill in the blank with whatever our imagination can summon.
