DRABBLE CHALLENGE ~ LINCHPIN
The drabble challenge is a weekly challenge , hosted by Aheila on her blog : http://thewriteaholicblog.wordpress.com A reminder how it works : read the prompt and find your angle ; write a drabble (100 word story, give or take 5 words) ; post a direct link to the drabble in your comments .

Just like the device that keeps the wheel secure on its axle , spinning around as expected , so the linchpin keeps the cycle going , the predictable never-ending motion in place .
Miss Sparkle , the "party-animal" with the bubbly personality , epitomized the human linchpin .
I watched her at play .
With her unmistakeable aura , she strutted her stuff ; demanded , manipulated and threw her toys out of the cot at every opportunity .
But still , everybody gravitated towards her , like moths to a flame .
She was the ultimate piper and everyone danced to her tune .
Without a doubt , I needed her at my party .
I have known MANY people just like Miss Sparkle.
Not sure that I would want one at my party though! 🙂
Hey DML ~~ I get your point , but since she’s the “life and soul of the party” , she will guarantee that everybody will be “dancing to her tune” LOL ! It’s a win-win situation 🙂
Miss Sparkle may cause chaos … but that beats dull and boring any time! 😉
Really fun drabble, M!!
My sentiments exactly R ~~ and the hostess can just sit back , relax and bask in the afterglow LOL !! 🙂
Hey Mish!
Nice drabble. Some people do seem to be the center of attention in every party; some because they take all the room, others because they have interesting things to say. 😉
I know my personality doesn't work well with the Miss Sparkle of this world. *laughs*
Hey A ~~ that’s so true ! And I suppose it takes all types to make the world ! Imagine if everybody was the same … frightening … Anyway we all have our own special sparkle … 🙂
Now that could be the beginning of an urban fantasy where she really was an evil pied piper demon, wooing innocent morons to be her minions…mwahaha!
Nice job, Mish =)
Thanks TTT ~~ you’ve given me some food for thought ! Sounds like an interesting idea to follow through ~~ I’ve never done urban fantasy before ~~ maybe it’s time to stretch the writing muscles further … 🙂
