DRABBLE CHALLENGE ~ SEEK

"Give up the ghost ! Let go ! Move forward !"

"And let the past twenty years go to waste ? You gotta be kidding me ! After all my hard work — day in and day out … month in and month out —"

"It is destined to end in heartache !"

"But I'm so close … within twenty four hours 'the truth' will reveal itself ."

But I should have left well alone . As the saying goes "let sleeping dogs lie" … Instead I pursued it , punished myself ,  probed , pushed —— had to disturb the sleeping dog and , instead of the pampered poodle of my deluded imagination , I unleashed a ferocious , raving pitbull !
