F is for Flick Book/Facebook

F-Day is upon us! Flabbergasted? Frazzled? Frantic? Fiddlesticks! You can do it! My fanatical friends and followers, forget about being finnicky and have fun! Feel free to be freaking foolish and follow the festivities. Some folk favour a dash of finesse and flair ! Flippin' heck is what I say folks!

Ever wondered what books would say if they had the chance to express themselves/air their views?

Well, you are about to find out!

All illustrations are by the talented Mary-An. Check out her website HERE

But wait! What is a flick book (also known as a flip book)? It is a series of pictures that vary gradually from one page to the next, so that when the pages are turned rapidly, the pictures appear to animate by simulating motion or some other change. Go to WIKIPEDIA for more info…

And now you get to play along! What do YOU think these two books want to tell us? Post it in the comment section below. Have fun!

At the end of the challenge, between 02nd and 05th of May, I'm going to announce my favourite "book comment" which will be the one that resonates with me the most!

A REMINDER: the IWSG site will have a corresponding post for each letter/day of the A to Z Challenge so do stop by.

On the Facebook page, a thread will be started for the "letter of the day" and we'd LOVE you to share your A to Z post links on the daily thread – this saves YOU time scrolling through links on the master A to Z sign-up list, especially since people post at different times… some MAY skip letters… dead links etc.

One last thing – don't forget to visit those who stop by your blog!

    Wow, all those F's. Brilliant.

Flip book – "Hey slow down a bit. I want to be appreciated for who I am. You make me so flipping mad."

Facebook – "I just want to be your friend and I promise I won't become a big part of your life – honestly, despite what everyone else has told you."

You missed out 'fibs' or are just another view on Facebook?

  6. Hilary on April 7, 2014 at 1:29 pm

Hi Michelle .. those are great suggestions by Tasha and Angela above, also Bob's fibs ..

I'm not a fake .. but feeling flaked and not thinking fractally … so commenting sensibly is beyond me .. cheers Hilary

Farcebook! (As Gary likes to call it.)

  9. Lynn on April 7, 2014 at 3:47 pm

I used to have a few flip books, even made one of my own.  Those are fantastic fun!

    Happy blogging!

Book: "I'm ecconomically friendly, and Dude, I'm totally going to outlive you. Five years and you will be obsolete in a trash heep. Me? I'll be prized on someone's shelf for the next five decades."

Netbook: "I'll still be used more in my 5 years than you will be in 5 decades."

Frankly, I'm fairly fresh from fun w/ family in Florida. But for sure the familiar frazzle will flame by Friday.

Oh gosh, I'm sure this will be lame, but here goes:

Facebook: But..but how can you get any validation at all if there's no Like button to click?

Flip Book: [rolls eyes and keeps on flippin' for his fans]

My cousins had a mini flip book that was a cartoon. I'd sit and flip the pages as fast as I could. They're fun, like making your own cartoon. The book is making a sputtering noise like when you attach a playing card to catch the spokes of your bicycle, ptttptppptpptppptppt.

Flippin' Flabbergasted is what I am lol

Flip Book: "Did you see my flip, baby?…what'd you think?"

    Facebook: "Like!"

Flip book says to online book, "I've been around a long time, I download fast and I don't require upgrades every week."

Online book says to Flip book, "You're so old school."

All this flicking going on – I just came from a blog that had nose picking/flicking as the theme of the day. Am relieved there's none of that here, although the computer may be complaining of such things coming off the pages of the flick book while, um, flicking.

Flipbooks were fun, especially sports and cartoon based ones. Facebook is fun when you get to see real updates rather than memes, quotes and the rest of the usual walled statements.

Hope you have fun with both A-Z and IWSG

Flip book: "Flip me, I dare you."

Facebook: "I can't flip you, but I can 'like' you."

Haha. Those were my lame attempts. 😛

  18. Krystal Jane on April 7, 2014 at 10:42 pm

    Haha! That is great. ^_^

Flickbook: Can't nobody best me, man!

Facebook: I don't even know what you are…

  19. Erica on April 8, 2014 at 2:18 am

    Fabulous fun.

I can't think of anything clever for this one, but I appreciate the reminder of flipbooks. I haven't thought of them in ages, but I remember having so much fun with them when I was young.

I see someone already mentioned likes and Farcebook, which was what I was thinking.

  22. Penny on April 8, 2014 at 1:02 pm

Indeed, my human refers to it as "Farcebook" or "Fartbook". I call it "Farcebark."  I cannot even look at the telephone.  I'll just have to face the fax.

Oh and how are you, princess Glib?  Arf! Arf!

Penny at the Alphabark Challenge, 2014! 🙂

I'm certainly feeling a little frazzled today.  Have a good week!
