Five Sentence Fiction #4 – ORANGE

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week the hostess will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.

The six-month-long search reached its finale.

Ten candidates strutted their stuff, with styles that ranged from downright ridiculous to over-the-top.

A little-known, pixie-faced girl, sported a riotous bulk of waist-length wild hair, interlaced with frizzy orange curls, like aloes in desperate need of attention.

Au naturelle.

Unknowingly, a trendsetter-in-the-making, blazing a new trail, leading the way on an unknown journey, taking the fledgling company to greater heights…

Now I want to know what they are competing for !

The brand new face of a cosmetics company…

Oh, I wish I knew what the other 9 looked like. (:

    • michelle on June 2, 2012 at 4:29 pm

The others were too mainstream… typical runway model type hair/style/appearance… and too "fabricated"…

"… like aloes in desperate need of attention."  Now there's an image I can relate to.  ðŸ™‚

Are you referring to your hair? If so, your photo shows gorgeous auburn? tresses… nothing like the "desperate" aloes in my piece… LOL

A trend-setter in the making…sounds like a very interesting character!

Somebody who is, as yet, unaware of her full potential…  mmm… does make for quite an interesting character…

Thought-provoking. It is usually something outside of the mainstream that becomes the next big thing. You've conveyed that with your 6 sentences.

    • michelle on June 2, 2012 at 4:43 pm

You are so right. It's something different that captures the attention… a fresh, new look…

I fell in love with this orange-haired little girl.  I wonder…did she audition and beat out the other 9 to appear in a TV commercial campaign for a new Clairol hair color or perhaps the role of "Annie" in the new Broadway show?  Btw, thank you for visiting and commenting on mine.
