Today is the First Loves Blogfest! Your first movie, first music (song/band,) first book, and first person. Four loves, one blogfest!
It’s a toss up between the book that left a long-lasting impression on me as a teenager and the book that really ignited my love of thriller/mystery stories.
Anne Of Green Gables has to be the one that did it for me as a teen. I also went on to read most of the books in the series.
Sidney Sheldon’s suspense filled novels often featured determined women who persevered in a tough world run by hostile men. Rage Of Angels is the story that took me on a rollercoaster ride on the edge of my seat. The “dead canary with a broken neck” scenario is one that will stay with me for a lifetime.
This one is very, very difficult… can't really say… maybe a three-way tie…
Earth, Wind & Fire – Fantasy
The Carpenters – Close To You.
Although I’m not much of a movie-lover, when we were growing up, there were quite a few movies that made an impression on me
A three-way tie…
A Star Is Born starring the legendary Barbara Streisand.
Saturday Night Fever.
As a teenager, I belonged to a youth group. There was a guy who was popular with the girls and most of the young girls had a crush on him. At an annual party/dance, arrangements were made for him to be my partner (can’t remember the details). Suffice it to say, that never happened… deep down I knew it was wishful thinking and in a strange way, a part of me felt a sense of relief! I mean, what on earth would a shy, insecure, gawkish girl say to a “sophisticated” somebody.
Fast forward… I happened to see this guy about a year ago… and am wondering what the fuss was all about! There’s nothing to rave about – he’s actually a bland character!

So there you have it! Though I have to add that these "first loves" are applicable at this moment, and are subject to change, according to change in perception that accompanies the ageing process…
Thank you to Alex J. Cavanaugh for hosting this awesome blogfest!
