SENSATIONAL HAIKU & WHIMSICAL WEDNESDAY~10

If you could define

Or compare your writing style

To levels of fire…

                                              Leaping and soaring

                                              Flames that engulf and consume

                                              Red hot and intense?

Or a slow steady

Constant flickering, burning

Like a candle flame?

FIRE

If you would like to find out more about the haiku challenge, go to Jenn's blog.

…and here's the latest weird, whacky and sometimes wonderful words (from the dag's dictionary)…

Earternity – that endless and particularly enervating period of time when you are stuck holding the phone to your ear, waiting for your bank, Internet company, or insurer to actually attend to you.

Cordon blur – the moment, halfway through cooking a recipe, when you blindly add a tablespoon of cayenne pepper instead of the required pinch.

    I love the way you've creatively written this series of haiku.

    My fire does all of the things you describe!

      @Teresa ~ thank you!

      @Magical Mystical T. ~ little bit of this… little bit of that? your fire sounds like the perfect combo!

    A great analogy! I'd have to say mine is a bit of both.

      @TTT ~ yes, one can look at it in so many different ways…

      @Carol ~ thanks for the visit!

      @Karen ~ little bit of both means you've found the balance…

    I love your wacky words!  The analogy you painted is really neat, too.  I guess my writing style is steady.  Nothing too intense.

    • michelle on May 19, 2012 at 10:14 am

      @Nutschell ~ the words always put a smile on my dial!

      @4joy ~ thanks for popping in!

      @Sherry ~ nothing wrong with steady, it's also dependent on what a person writes…

    I tend to try for intense, but I think a good story has to have both its fast and slow elements.

    I once wrote a haiku.  I thought it was pretty good.  So good,  in fact, that I retired my haiku-pen forever.  Ha!

    And then there's the cordon blur dig where you try and fish the extra spice out of the goo.

    • michelle on May 19, 2012 at 10:20 am

      @Becca ~ glad you enjoyed (this coming from the Queen of Haiku herself)

      @Golden Eagle ~ you've nailed it… each has its place within a story!

      @Stephanie ~ *chuckles* it couldn't have been that bad…

      @Leslie ~ hilarious! mmm… talking from experience, by any chance?

    Beautiful and creative. The fire analogy stanzas resonated with me.

    Oh, interesting way to incorporate your ideas into the theme! Nicely done! I like to write with all of the above, personally 🙂

  16. michelle on May 22, 2012 at 7:39 pm

    @Rekha ~ I'm glad you connected with the haiku…  🙂

    @Jenn ~ I have no doubt that a balance of the two produces fine writing… thanks for popping in! 🙂
