The Insecure Writer’s Support Group ~ No#41
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer – aim for a dozen new people each time.
The co-hosts for this month are: Eva Solar, Melanie Schulz, Lisa-Buie Collard, and Stephen Tremp! Don’t forget to visit them and thank them for co-hosting!
Our Twitter hashtag is #IWSG
Since my mind is still in “A to Z mode”, here’s my A to Z of writerly insecurities…
(This is a repost from last year. I had NO time functioning brain cells energy to prepare a post for today. Am I forgiven? Please?)
I’m an adequate, befuddled chancer, a dabbler who endeavours to fabricate stories with genuine heartfelt intentions… I have jumbled knowledge, but I’m learning, mastering (ha! hopefully) faced with never-ending obstacles. Pressure quickens the realisation that stories take time to unearth. I’m a vacillating wannabe who yearns to reach the zenith… (patience… breathe… patience… perseverance… breathe…) but I do have oodles of zing, zip and zest!(hope that counts…)
Lazy? Creative? Pick one.
Insecure? Definitely.
I hope that I can get around to visit a few IWSG’ers today/tomorrow/Friday… and on the weekend too…
Happy IWSG day!
I used my last brain cell to write today’s post, but next Monday’s will require I grow a few new ones.
Your clones need to pull a double/triple duty! 😀
Nothing to forgive! 🙂 Try to get some rest, refill that creative well a bit.
I will. Thanks Madeline. 🙂
That was awesome! “fabricate stories with genuine heartfelt intentions”…I really liked that part. 🙂
Thanks Chrys. 🙂
Ha ha! Loved that A to Z list! I can sooo relate to the no more brain cells left. But have to admit that a lot of today’s posts on the #IWSG are really good and inspired by their work on the #AtoZChallenge!!! Thanks for dropping by and commenting on my blog today, Lisa, co-host #IWSG May, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com
Thank you Lisa!
And thanks for doing an awesome job as one of the co-hosts of the A to Z Challenge 🙂
Hang on to that zing!
I’m hanging on with all I’ve got!
Clever wordsmith ye be! Not lazy. That’s for sure. I’m the befuddled one in the mix. I fixed your name in my bogle psto. Now I can’t psell aynthgin.
Hahahaha! Thank you for a good laugh! 😀
lol, that’s definitely creative! And worth the repost.
Thank you, Lynda!
creative 😀 for sure 😀
Thank you for giving the creative thumbs-up! 😀
You are a wonderful writer with endless amounts of creativity. Everyone needs time to recharge sometimes. So enjoy a little break.
I will, thanks Murees!
You did GREAT! Nothing wrong with posting something from the past, especially if it still works AND it does!
Get some much needed rest!
Thank you Mr. Blurb King! 😀
Creative, definitely, and worth repeating. I didn’t see an X, so I’ll give you one. eXcellent!
Love you!
I forgot the X?? Oh dear.
Thanks or filling it in, Mary! Love you too, my friend!
Take some time and soak in some creativity and rejuvenation rays. It’s needed after the A-Z! 🙂
I will do that, Holly!
Thank you.
Oh, you are so creative. And after A to Z, your brain came up with that?
*laughing* It’s a repost from last year, Susan.
The brain is befuddled… it’s clearing a little now…
I couldn’t begin to think about posting something yesterday. I’ll try to get in on the first Wednesday action next month. Bravo to you for coming up with anything at all!
Thanks Nadine! 🙂
Hey, Michelle,
I’ve had a few mishaps too this week, so I’m hoping to visit on the weekend.
I think many of us who did the A-Z are operating at less than full capacity. 🙂
Yes, we’re on auto-pilot… 😀
I would call that a great post! and I don’t blame you, I have no idea how you guys did the a-z!
It’s gruelling… but loads of fun. You should try it at least ONCE in your life.
Hey Michelle,
Ah yes, how about lazily creative. Ignore me. Then again, I do appreciate your obsession with that group dedicated to me “IWSG” aka “I Was Seeking Gary.”
And to add to my alphabet nightmare, you had to bring back that incorporating of the idiotic alphabet challenge with your IWSG. HELP and LOL.
Nicely done, Michelle 🙂
Gary
Got you Gary!
…and I’m still waiting to co-host the Alphabark Challenge with you. I haven’t forgotten. You asked me, remember? and I said yes 🙂
Hi Michelle – creative … I’d say … and this IWSG is a perfect A-Z!! cheers Hilary
Thanks Hilary!
A befuddled A-Z brain is why I’m still getting around to IWSG posts, and finishing off my replies to comments from the A-Z. It was a long month, and yet May is already over a week in! Time is playing tricks on me.
At the moment, time is not a friend…
Hi, I’m stopping by to congratulate Michelle on winning the you rock award! Kapla! (Klingon for success.)
Thank you for popping in! I appreciate it.
What an amazing, unique post Michelle!!! I loved it. I’m way behind on my visits and so glad I caught yours!!!
Thank you, Cathrina! Glad you stopped by.
I can relate to NO functioning creative brain cells or energy. I’ve been fighting with that this past year since I’ve had to return to work. Seems like there is nothing left over for writing or should I say, much writing. I feel more like a dabbler than a fullfledged writer. Right now I’m trying to learn the fine art of juggling. Damn those balls hurt when you drop them.
Hey, nothing wrong with reusing good material.
BTW, congrats on your “you rock” award. You do!
Sia McKye Over Coffee
Thank you, Sia!
We all go through through those ups and downs… it’s never smooth sailing, is it? Hang in there.
You’re so clever. I hope the A to Z Challenge was epic for everyone. It was killing me to not play along, but well, I had some pretty important work going on.
Thanks Crystal!
Hope you’re enjoying your brand new “bundle of joy”! 😀
You’re a great writer Michelle — I really enjoyed your posts that I did catch, and to have the creativity to write flash fiction for each letter is really impressive!
Thank you for the encouraging words, Celine!
It gives me a much-needed boost of confidence… 🙂
Thanks for dropping by today Michelle! Hope you’re having a great May! Lisa @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com
Thanks Lisa!
You’re forgiven! I was so whacked out I forgot to post for the IWSG at all. I know. This is a fun post, just like your A-Z posts!
Thank you, Nick!
I have a habit of using fun stuff as a “front” to distract from my insecurities…
Making my way around on the A to Z Road trip! Stopping by to say hello and I hope to see you again next year, if not sooner!
Mary

Hi Mary!
Thanks for swinging by.
That was extremely creative. My brain cells have been preoccupied, so I get struggling to keep up online. Hope all is well.
I’m well thanks Mary.
Good to hear from you…. (I know you’ve been really busy…) 🙂
You summed up the feelings and struggles of a writer perfectly.
Thank you, Medeia! 🙂
We survived A to Z, didn’t we?! I love your paragraph on A to Z…that looks like a lot of work.
Stephanie

We did survive!
Lots of work? Not really. The paragraph percolated for a while… then it came together… 😀
Ha! That was definitely creative! Loved it!!
Thanks Caryn! 🙂
That’s uniquely creative, repost or not. A-Z is just so much fun…
Thanks Nila! 🙂
