The Insecure Writer’s Support Group ~ No#76

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer – aim for a dozen new people each time.

The awesome co-hosts for the April posting of the IWSG are: Olga Godim, Chemist Ken, Renee Scattergood, and Tamara Narayan!

Don’t forget to visit them and thank them for co-hosting!

Our Twitter handle is @TheIWSG and hashtag is #IWSG.

Sorry for the late post! The hosting company had problems with the server which affected all the blogs hosted by the company. It got fixed about five minutes ago… literally!

I’m in the home stretch of my #100words100dayschallenge! YAY! Only 6 days left!

Reminder! The next IWSG Twitter pitch event, #IWSGPit, is July 19! See that page for details. Some great success stories have come from the first two – it could be you.

Back to my writing balloon… only 5 days left! Writing every day for 100 days is not easy… but it’s an amazing experience… one I may attempt again in the hopefully-not-too-distant-future!

Hi Michelle!!!! Congrats on finishing the challenge! I am sooooo proud of you!

Missed you popping over to my blog… I have some FUN and ‘It’s about time,” news…. I started a NEW writing project… A memoir of an UNBELIEVABLE woman. I currently have a teaser at my blog. I’d love to know what you think… this is the first piece of real writing I have done in over two years…..

    Hope you are well!

That is so awesome about the 100-day challenge, Michelle! Congratulations! And now that you’re in the groove, maybe this will become a habit… Was it Vonnegut or Bradbury that said writing every day—like every single day—is the key to mastering the craft? I believe it. I notice that when I go a long stretch without writing, whether it’s journals or on the blog or something I’m working on, it gets harder, somehow… Sure, the words don’t flow as easily, but also the imagery, the metaphors, the plot twists… Creativity really is a muscle, and the more we exercise it, the stronger it gets.

Kudos to you, my friend! BRAVA!
