L is for LALOCHEZIA
Listen A to Z labourers, leave out the lazy and lame attitude. Laugh out loud. Liaise with others lest you become lethargic and lackadaisacal… lose pace… lag behind by lengths… you are liable to be labelled loser…
Yóu xì bî mò fãn yì fei huà……..
— is an old Chinese philosophy which refers to somebody who has the innate ability to decipher unusual words.
JUST JOKING.
(you can read the details about this challenge and the competition running throughout the month of April)
The word for Day 12 is—-
LALOCHEZIA
Lalo left, step to the left, lalo right, step to the right, two steps forward and two steps back, two hops forward and two hops back, turn around and touch the ground; click your fingers and face your partner, right leg forward and chezia, left leg forward and chezia…. don't you recognise it? It's the new line dance that is taking the world by storm!
So that's my definition. What's yours? Post it in the comment box below. Remember you stand to win a prize
Sorry, the brain has just shut down for the night…
I totally understand! 🙂
I love lalochezia! It's the new low-calorie pizza created by famous Los Angeles chef, Vicente Palermo. The LA-LO(cal)-CHEESY pizza … lalochezia!
Line dancing and pizza – great definitions – my tri lingual brain see's only chezia as church in Italian – I couldn't possible think of anything better – maybe something silly like a LAdies LOnely Chieza (church)
A matriarchal religious sect? A female-dominated church? A congregation of worshippers made up of lots of spinsters/widows? Could be any one of those…
Michelle you are hilarious.
… and I'll take that as a compliment! Thank you Ida! 🙂
It sounds delumptious AND healthy too!
I love this idea! It reminds me of the game Dictionary that my family loves to play.
Lalochezia: a flowering orchid indiginous to the coast of South America, distinguishable by it's flash of bright pink said to resemble the tongue of a poisonous chezia frog.
Sounds rare and exotic!
You are NOT going to believe me, Michelle, but the first thing that came to mind when I saw your word is a DANCE… honestly. Yup… It is THE NEW DANCE CRAZE… Bah, bah, bah, bah … bah, bah, bah, bah, … shake your hips, and do the Lalochezia… Ooo … Oooo. OOOO and twist… twist… twist …. a kick, a turn, a kick, a, turn …. now a HAIR FLIP!!!! Kick, and turn … kick and turn … SHAKE THAT BOOTIE!!!! LOL.
FEEL the pulse of the beat… Ooo… Oooo, OOOO.. another …. HAIR FLIP! Repeat… Bah, bah, bah, ….
Hope you had a good laugh… And I am really happy that you are enjoying my posts. You made my weekend!
Michael, you had me bobbing along to your "soundless beat". Lalochezia – the new dance created by online bloggers! 🙂
Dancing is great when other people are doing it, but I seem to grow another pair of legs on the dancefloor that I have no control over!
I'm sure you can do some type of dancing… you just haven't found the one that suits you. Line dancing is a great way to "hide" amongst a batch of dancers while you get the moves right!
Cute. All I could think of was yellow cheese. (It's early Sunday morning.)
Play off the Page
Early morning? That says it all…
It sounds like a sausage. Many of your words sound foody.
Now, I'm wishing for a chilli/cheese dog… they sell delicious ones at the 24 hour service station around the corner… and my tummy is rumbling…
I'm going to go with something different and say it's a condition whereby you have to "lie low"… similar to agoraphobia.
A medical condition? Interesting…
I know it's Sunday and you're taking the day off from A-Z, but I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for a blog award over at my blog today. http://katejarvikbirch.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-liebster-award.html
Thank you so much! I will collect it after the A to Z Challenge!
LALOCHEZIA – Decribes the sighting of the loch monster and the expression of contempt at his marked lack of viciouness -> La (look) Loch…
Cheez!! (THAT"S HIM?)
Have a great week ahead. I will drop by and catch another of your 'meaningfu'l words.:)
An expression of contemptuous surprise? Love the angle… Nice to see you here, Rekha! I'll pop in at your place shortly…
The first thing I thought of was a dish in a Mexican restaurant. I love anything Mexican so this made me hungry!
Oooh! *smacking lips* It sounds like it may be deliciously spicy…
My dad's brother? Named Lalo?
Ah! Is that who he is?
It's like the concert Lollapalooza, only instead of bands, cheese performs.
Sounds kinda… cheesy? LOL
Hmmm. I'm going to go with a beautiful woman. Shrug. It's the first thing that popped into mind when I said the word out loud. Fun theme!
That does sound like it fits!
Wasn't she an adult film star from the 70's?
Are you talking about the famous (or is it infamous?) Madame Lalolita Chezia?
I think I sat behind him in 3rd grade. He was new.
Was he an immigrant?
Lalochezia: When a person thinks they see the Lochness monster but its only a mirage its called lalochezia
Used in a sentence: The seaman's eye tricked him once more with lalochezia.
This is the second definition involving Nessie! Makes me wonder… are you and Rekha in cahoots?
ha ha! Love it! Sounds a bit like a music fest with cheesy artists. lol
I tend to agree!
The Lalochezia are a reclusive tribe of hunter-gatherers in the Himalayas. They are seldom seen and rarely mentioned anymore. I'm surprised to find them mentioned here.
A dying breed? Good one C.Lee!
As you may know, it's derived from the Italian language, and is an expression of lustful, obsessive love.
I can hear the voice of Signor as he whispers his undying love…. Ti amo per sempre, sei bella. Ti do il mio cuore. Facciamo l'amore! Facciamo l'amore! And no, I DO NOT speak or understand Italian at all! 🙂
So funny! Then where'd you get those lovely Italian sentences from?
