NaNoWriMo Torture…
This is a response to the 100 Word Challenge which is hosted over at Velvet Verbosity. This week the word is – WRITING.
Her newly-acquired, zombie-induced status was the product of many a sleepless night, burning the midnight oil.
Sleep had become her opponent, her nemesis, the bane of her existence; that elusive, unattainable, far-away ideal that she both craved and detested.
She walked around with blood-shot eyes that felt gritty, as if invaded by countless sand granules which could be acutely felt but were non-existent.
Sleep taunted and beckoned her… tried to entwine her in its warm embrace.
But she had a deadline to meet!
At least one thousand words per day.
Twenty days remained to claim the ultimate – NaNoWriMo victory.
Excellent, love the grit in the eyes. Robin
Thank you. I imagine the “gritty-eyed stage” will be experienced by most NaNoWriMo’ers at some stage during the challenge.
im currently 2 thousand words behind my nanowrimo pace. this related so closely.
good job
I’m sure you’ll make it up during the course of the month. It’s still good going, anyway!
HA! The zombie invasion has arrived and it's NaNoWriMo! This was perfect, and I know exactly how you feel. I have 1,600 words to write before midnight.
I’m sure you’ll manage your 1,600 words by midnight! You’d better get going now, leave the blogging/commenting for after you’ve met the deadline! Good luck!
I haven't hit the zombie phase yet 🙂 I suspect somewhere in week three that will hit
*chuckles* Good luck… especially during week three! 🙂
Good luck as you tred through the zombie stages. My best to all you crazy NANO folks out there.
It’s my fictional character who’s trudging through the zombie stage… 🙂
Keep plugging along! You can do it.
That’s my mantra… you can do it… you can do it… you can do it…
Whether I follow up on this mantra, well, time will tell 🙂
This sounds like my years at college as a science major. 😛
The life of a college student… *sighs*I can remember it as if in a distant dream 🙂
It always includes sleepless nights spent chasing assignment deadlines…
