P is for PRIMA DONNA
Welcome to Day 16 of the Third Annual A to Z Challenge!
My theme – my 26 fiction posts will revolve around something musical – it could be anything, as long as it's musically-related… maybe a song title, an artist/band, musical terminology, musical instruments, words relating to sound/rhythm/movement/dance etc.
MUSICAL ASSOCIATION/CONNECTION. PRIMA DONNA – originally used in opera, it is Italian for first lady used to designate the leading female singer in the opera company, the person to whom the prime roles would be given.

She regards herself as eccentric.
Her mother says, flamboyant.
I say vulgar. Call a stone a stone, not a pebble or brick.
As a person from the "upper echelons of society", she turns her nose up at the beggar on the street corner, the pavement vendor and garbage truck collector.
Walk a mile in another man's shoes before you judge him.
Though I doubt she'd manage even a quarter of the distance with those stick legs in the high Jimmy Choos; the contrived raven-haired coiffure, vacuous smile and the wide-eyed, porcelain doll makeover resembling Morticia The Maniac.
She's a wanna-be diva with her well-chosen, oh-so-clever bon mots about the misfortune of others, all the while underpaying the illegal kitchen staff and yelling at me if I practised my Spanish with them…
Makes me wonder…

GENRE: FICTION
Whoa…this is good. You could write a whole novel based on this. 🙂
Welcome to my place, Pam. Thanks for your vote of confidence in my piece. 🙂
She needs a smack upside the head!
Yes, a hard knock on the block!
This is great Michelle! I love all of the wonderful details that you've woven in down to her Jimmy Choos!
I tried to portray a superficial type of character – just hope it wasn't too stereotypical…
Great post. I had no idea that's where the term Prima Donna came from. Your description was incredible.

Love Carlotta, the diva/prima donna in Phantom of the Opera.
I love Phantom Of The Opera…. yes, she is something else… 🙂
What a Prima Donna! Love the description. There's a story itching to get out of this one… (;
She is quite a character… too full of her own self-importance…
What a great description! I've met a few of these in the music conservatory!
In the entertainment industry, you find one on every stage and behind every dressing-room curtain… I call them "Drama Queens" LOL!
Awesome descritption. I want to smack her too.
You will have to stand in line and wait your turn… 🙂
This was amazing! So many references, all bound up in a sensual musical dance. See you again soon?
