A to Z Reflections…
I'm slowly winding down from my A to Z high…
I have never ever had so much fun, or laughed so hard, like I did during the month of April. I'm talking about ROTFL moments. Tons and tons and tons of ROTFL moments. I think I had the most fun during the challenge. And that's what consumed most of my time. As a result, I didn't get a chance to visit too many new bloggers. I just about managed to keep up with my regular blogging buddies. A positive note: I forged stronger connections with certain bloggers who I've known for a while, but never visited on a regular basis. I look forward to maintaining better contact with these bloggers. I did find a few brand new blogs, which I will be visiting on a regular basis…
A strange thing happened during the challenge. I began to respond to blogger definitions by posting my thoughts; or what I imagined the commenter was trying to say. (that sounds crazy… I know). I certainly didn't plan to do so. During the challenge, time is soooo precious. You never have enough. But I just couldn't resist. It was spontaneous and in the moment…. and sucked most of my time. But the interactivity was PRICELESS and I had a blast doing so, and wouldn't go back and change anything! This is the main reason why I didn't get around to many blogs. (… my minion duties also meant that I was responsible for checking in on a certain section of the A to Z list…)
I'll share some of these whacky and wonderful definitions in a later post… Plus, I can always get around to other blogs by signing up for the AtoZ road trip later on… if time permits…
You may or may not know that my theme was based on bloggers providing their own definitions for the words that I posted. This included a competition which you can read more about HERE. If you want to vote for your favourite definitions, go HERE.
You are welcome to vote, even if you didn't play along during the challenge. You'll get a chance to read some of these wonderful definitions too!
One last thing I forgot to mention… the prize! For want of a suitable word, I'm calling it a hamper. It will be filled with————
OODLES OF CABOODLES OF SOUTH AFRICAN ITEMS ! (dependent on which letter of the alphabet is the winning letter… sounds cryptic? Now, you'll HAVE to go and check it out…)
So what are you waiting for… off you go… it's voting time!
Your theme was very creative! I didn't get around to many new blogs either, but like, made better friends with some I was already following.
I visited a lot of new blogs. Some I knew in an instant I wouldn't be back, some will become new blogging buddies, I think. Most fell somewhere in the middle. And like you, I became much better acquainted with some bloggers I already knew. All in all a great time.
Your theme was awesome, and one of my favorites!
I loved your theme, Michelle! I visited my minion section pretty well, but didn't get "out and about" on the list either . . .I guess I'll be road tripping through it over the next several months.
Great reflection!
Hey, MIchelle,
I did find your blog as well as Elise's very interesting because I like words. Didn't visit as many people as I wanted to, but the list will be up for a while yet. Have a wonderful Sunday.
But that's what makes A to Z so fun and lets you really connect with people. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I enjoyed A-Z as well. I was a lot more relaxed this time around then I was the first time I participated. I am really happy that you had such a blast. Your theme was definitely fantastic.
It's nice that you had so much fun during this too. I know I did. It is too bad that the rest of life has to happen during the month of the A to Z Challenge! 🙂
It was great you had such a good time. I can nearly see your grin. Your theme was very creative and the definitions still have me laughing. I loved it.
As you know, I was spectating this year.
Hugs and chocolate,
Shelly
Congratulations on finishing A to Z! Visiting, Following & Inviting you to my blog. http://whenkateblogs.blogspot.com/ Looking forward to 2014
South African goodies – yum. If I could change one thing, it would be that I only ever opened your blog during fresh brain moments, so I could have thought of better meanings and been in with a chance to win that prize. The fun you had shined through in every post I read.
yep, visiting everyone was certainly a challenge!!
Hahaha if I win, postage will be cheap. 😛
I just read your favorite definitions left by your blog visitors. No wonder you laughed so much during April. That is the way to do a blogfest!
Oh, that sounds like you made a great time of it! Congrats on finishing the challenge!
I had a similar experience, didn't get a chance to visit other blogs like last year, but I did get a chance to make a stronger connection with bloggers I was already following. Glad the list will be up for us to continue visiting. (:
I had great fun, Michelle. I always looked forward to visiting your site!
Defining your words was a blast, Michelle. It was like playing Balderdash with my family.
Mission accomplished, well done!

Great reflection post! I also had fun, time consuming though it was! Would have liked to visit dozens more but a gal has just so much time, no?

You had such a fun theme! I felt like I had the opposite problem – I spent so much of my time visiting and commenting on new blogs that I completely neglected my long-time blog buddies (like you!). I'm still in recovery mode. 🙂
I loved defining your words, although a few had me stumped. 🙂
My only regret was not being able to visit your comic relief posts every day! One of the best themes this year!
Cheers!
Sam
I've never entered such challenges, although I know they bring together lovely bloggers with various interests…But I'm glad it brought me to your blog :).
Hi Michelle – your challenge was a real challene and one I got to very late – I'll need to check out the words .. but if you're going to carry on giving us feedback of some crazy times you had, that will be great and I'll be along with you.
Funny old world isn't it – I guess I just about managed as you did .. but I did meet some great new people too – and have joined the route 66 A-Z picnic ride to find some other great bloggers ..
Good to meet you and see you round and about .. cheers Hilary
I loved visiting your site! Your humor and wit amaze and inspire me.
I've already voted. Not getting around to enough blogs seems to be a common theme for everybody. 🙁
Your theme was heaps of fun! I'm glad you did all that laughing – it's a bloody good workout! hehe
Thanks for all the comments! You guys rock!
Michelle, I nominated you for an award. Please visit http://www.dhdunne.blogspot.com to find out more.
Hi, Michelle! Glad that April had you laughing so much…that is a sign of a great life! 🙂
