S is for Self Help 101 Or: How I Learned To Take Over The World By Tolerating My Family + Sliding On The Edge + Seismic Crimes
Welcome to the annual A to Z Challenge.
My theme: showcasing bloggers books, novellas, short story collections, poetry collections and some non-fiction books. The letters of the alphabet will correspond with the book title. I’ll be posting a link to my review of each book. I also have two questions for the author, just to spice things up a little.
Hopefully, visitors to my blog will be able to increase their reading lists and also get ideas for their wish lists.
First things first.
Thank you to everybody who participated during week three.
We have some winners! *drum roll*
For those who commented on posts M to P, the winners are as follows:
Pat Garcia from Everything Must Change wins an e-book of The Miracle Of Small Things by Guilie Castillo.
Ryan Carty from Residuals: something to sneeze at… wins an e-book of Murder & Obsession by Yolanda Renee.
Kalpanaawrites wins an e-book of Of Mist And Magic by Samantha Redstreake Geary.
Beth Camp wins an e-book of Old Broads Waxing Poetic from Julie Kemp Pick.
Nicola Burggraff wins an e-book of Once Upon A Nightmare by Cherie Reich.
Betty from A Bench With A View wins an e-copy of Polar Night by Julie Flanders.
Ellen from The Cynical Sailor and His Salty Sidekick wins an e-book of The Partners Progeny by Shelly Arkon.
So there you have it! There are still loads of other books to be won.
Self Help 101 Or: How I learned To Take Over The World By Tolerating My Family by L.G. Keltner. Read my review HERE.
Genre/Category: It’s labeled under holiday/humor on most sites, but it could also be classified as young adult.
The book character you want to have coffee with is: Minerva McGonagall from the Harry Potter series. She’s smart, she’s tough, and while she can be intimidating, she’s also fair and will stick up for her students. She’s had an interesting life, and I’d definitely like to have a discussion with her over coffee sometime. Or tea, if she’d prefer.
What would you name the autobiography of your life? At this point in my life, I think I’d title my autobiography Self-Help 101 or: How I Learned to Slay My Insecurities With My Favorite Pen.
Sliding on The Edge by C.Lee Mackenzie. Read my review HERE.
Genre/Category: Young Adult Crossover (14+)
Sign up for Lee’s monthly Email Connect and win a chance to be the Follower of the Month. She will:
1) do a blog post about you and your books.
2) mark your book as CURRENTLY READING on Goodreads.
3) buy one of your books, read, and review it.
4) tweet on Wednesdays about your book for that month (12 tweets).
5) post a Facebook post with a link to her review.
HERE’S A BONUS. Today is the release day for Seismic Crimes by Chrys Fey.
BLURB:
An Internal Affairs Investigator was murdered and his brother, Donovan Goldwyn, was framed. Now Donovan is desperate to prove his innocence. And the one person who can do that is the woman who saved him from a deadly hurricane—Beth Kennedy. From the moment their fates intertwined, passion consumed him. He wants her in his arms. More, he wants her by his side in his darkest moments.
Beth Kennedy may not know everything about Donovan, but she can’t deny what she feels for him. It’s her love for him that pushes her to do whatever she has to do to help him get justice, including putting herself in a criminal’s crosshairs.
When a tip reveals the killer’s location, they travel to California, but then an earthquake of catastrophic proportions separates them. As aftershocks roll the land, Beth and Donovan have to endure dangerous conditions while trying to find their way back to one another. Will they reunite and find the killer, or will they lose everything?

Thank you! I’m delighted to have won yet another book. I so enjoyed Vitamins and Death by Medeia Sharif. So lovely to be introduced to new (and excellent) authors through your blog.
Thank you, Michelle. I am thrilled to have won a copy of Cherie Reich’s e-book.
Three great author’s featured today, Michelle.
I love the way c.Lee Mackenzie writes and I’ve been excited to read snippets of Chrys’s Seismic Crimes. I will definitely be grabbing copies of both books this weekend.
I already have Keltner’s Self-help 101 – it’s next on my Kindle to read after completing Yolanda Renee’s Murder and Obsession.
So many great authors amongst the IWSG. Such an honour to be part of the community.
Hi, Nicola! I’m thrilled you’ve been enjoying reading snippets of Seismic Crimes, and I’m honored that you’ll be getting a copy. Thank you so much! 🙂
Morning!
It’s nice to wake up and find out that I have won something. My participation in this year’s A to Z Blog Challenge has brought me many rewards and I believe it has opened doors that I imagined could never open. I look forward to reading the book from Guilie Castillo.
Shalom,

Thank you for featuring my book today! This is so cool! Sliding on he Edge and Seismic Crimes both look like great reads!
My gosh I won again! And that book sounded fascinating! I’m going to have a lot of books to read after the challenge is over.
My self help book would be called “This To Will Pass, Lessons on How to Get Through the Bad Times with Faith in God.”

Thank you so much for adding my Seismic Crimes promo!!!! 😀 Sliding on the Edge is on my TBR list for this year. I’m also interested in L.G.’s book.
I love the cover for L.G’s book! Congrats to Chrys and C. Lee as well 🙂
Self Help title for my autobiography? “Nothing but Dirt and Worms or How I found Peace with Myself in My Garden”. I’ve never been through a natural disaster but I have been nearer to a tornado than I’d ever like to be again! An earthquake would probably freak me out! The ground is NOT supposed to move!
Happy weekend! Oh, and just in case 🙂 : jstantonchandler@gmail.com
I’m here! I’ve been sliding off the edge lately. *Wink. Wink* I keep dreaming alphabetically and I was stuck on Q for a few days.
Thanks for the lovely mention here to day and for putting me in such a good company of writers.
Congrats to all who are winning books. What a wonderful challenge theme, Michelle.
So many happy winners! Congrats to them all. This is so much fun.

Excellent! Congratulations, everyone. Way to go! Love the covers!
I have visited all three of these author’s blogs before 🙂 I own L.G.’s Self Help book on my Kindle, have not read it yet. I did read Chrys’ 30 Seconds and it was good. C. Lee’s books also look interesting. Congrats to the drawing winners!
I lived in Northridge, CA during the quake of ’94. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen the lid of your toilet end up underneath the base of said toilet.
Congrats to LG. Chrys and Lee for being featured today. What a sensational selection of books to choose from! Another congratulations goes out to all of the winners. Beth, I appreciate your interest in Old Broads and I’ll contact you soon. Thanks again for all you do, Michelle!
Actually, I given quite a bit of thought to this question 🙂
I think my self-help autobiography title would be: Silencing Delilah … ignoring that critical inner voice that prevents you from accepting your unique gifts and talents.
LOVE this theme! My initial comment got deleted, but I wrote something about delight-full to add to others’ TBR and promoting those writers you adore.
