IT’S TAG TIME – 11 Random Questions…

I’ve been tagged by Stacey to answer her questions as part of a fun, getting-to-know-you, ice-breaker exercise for the Fourth Platform-Building Campaign.
So here goes…

1. COFFEE OR TEA?
A story on its own… this is the shortened version… for the first half of my life, it was ‘normal’ tea until my palate started to ‘reject’ the taste, in favour of rooibos tea… but for the past 4 or-so years, I’ve been drinking way too much coffee and almost no tea…

2. EARLY BIRD OR NIGHT OWL?
Somewhere in between, as determined by work. When it’s education-related work, then it’s early bird. When it’s entertainment-related work, then it’s night owl. So I’m probably a NIGHTBIRD.

3. IF YOU COULD SPEAK ANOTHER LANGUAGE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Definitely French. I’ve always been fascinated by the ‘light & flowery sound’ of the language. It has a strong aural appeal…

4. WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK? WHY?
I don’t know if it’s possible to have ONE favourite book. I love MANDELA’S WAY – Lessons On Life by Richard Stengel. QUOTE: It captures the spirit of this extraordinary man – warrior, martyr, husband, statesman, and moral leader – and spurs us to look within ourselves, reconsider the things we take for granted, and contemplate the legacy we’ll leave behind.

5. SWEET OR SAVOURY?
Savoury gal! For sure!

6. PAPER BOOK OR E-BOOK?
Give me the good, old-fashioned hardcopy anyday… I love the library.

7. LEAST FAVOURITE SUBJECT AT SCHOOL?
I always did everything in my power to avoid physical education…

8. DO YOU HAVE ANY STRANGE HABITS?
Haven’t you noticed? I tend to abuse the dot.dot.dot.(ellipsis) It’s a bad habit…

9. ONE PLACE IN THE WORLD YOU WOULD LOVE TO VISIT?
There are soooo many… the French Riviera…

10. IF YOU COULD CHOOSE A SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
A highly-developed sense of sound – especially for music.

11. FAVOURITE SMELL?
… fresh popcorn… vanilla-based perfume… linen that has been freshly washed & ironed… the musty smell in the library.

Thank you Stacey! I had loads of fun! You caught me off-guard and really had me thinking hard about some of these things…

And now, I’m supposed to tag 5 others. Since most bloggers I know have been tagged on more than one occasion, I’m going to bend the rules (hope nobody minds) and not tag anybody this time round. Have an awesome week-end!

Mmmm, I love when I'm out for a walk and I cruise by someone's house who is doing laundry.  That smell lifts me right up.  I also abuse the…  I figure it's like "lol" or emoticons in that it conveys something you would have gotten across with a look or pause in face-to-face interaction.

Ah, I'm not the only one…  don't feel too bad about the abuse of the dot… the thing is, it fits in whenever you need it… thanks for popping in, Shannon.

mmm I love anything with vanilla in it, used to drown myself in vanilla body spray when I was at school lol.  I prefere the smell of new books to old ones though, still to meet someone who agrees with me! 🙂

Welcome to my blog, Anna. I do like the smell of new books as well… 🙂

  5. Tonja on February 19, 2012 at 12:42 pm

I abuse the dash.  My actual superpower is that I can hear whispers – it really annoys my kids.  Following back. 🙂

    • mish on February 19, 2012 at 12:59 pm

Thanks for swinging by, Tonja. I think that is the “dreaded” superpower – the superpower to beat ALL superpowers! 🙂

I think a lot of writers have a certain symbol that they use often. I know I love the semicolon.:P

Great Answers. I used to speak French, read French novels etc, but not using it has Big drawbacks. Now I only understand it and if I had time, I'd definitely want to get it back.

    • mish on February 20, 2012 at 8:09 pm

Ah, you lucky gal… speak and read French? Wow! You should definitely make some time and get back to it.

I use exclamation points constantly. People must think I’m always yelling. I love all of your answers, and I agree, vanilla and fresh linen are the best scents. I want to use an exclamation point so bad! There. I feel better.

I wonder what the grammar police would say about this abuse of punctuation? *he he*

  11. Misha on February 22, 2012 at 1:21 pm
