The Insecure Writer’s Support Group ~ No#108

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer – aim for a dozen new people each time.

The awesome co-hosts for the February posting of the IWSG are:  Louise – Fundy Blue ,Jennifer Lane, Mary Aalgaard, Patsy Collins at Womagwriter, and Nancy Gideon!

Don’t forget to visit them and thank them for co-hosting!

Our Twitter handle is @TheIWSG and hashtag is #IWSG.

Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.

FEBRUARY 03rd QUESTION – Blogging is often more than just sharing stories. It’s often the start of special friendships and relationships. Have you made any friends through the blogosphere?

When I started out blogging, I hadn’t even considered writing and publishing anything.  I’ve built relationships with many of my blogging friends, who are writers.

Many of them have supported me along the way on my writerly journey. So yes, I’ve made many friends through the blogosphere.

I’m going to use this opportunity to say thank you to all my bloggy buddies, who have supported and encouraged me. There are too many to mention and I don’t want to leave anybody out.

These past few months have been particularly difficult for me.

I buried my mom, moved to another house (still in the process at the moment, which has become a conveyancing nightmare because Covid has caused a backlog) and my hubby was in an accident two weeks ago (suffered a nasty broken arm). Plus we’re back at school, amidst a declining second wave of Covid, busy with in-contact teaching BUT also preparing the online platform since you never know what will happen from day to day… so there you have it! Hectic? Yes. Very. It’s a fluid situation. Things can change from one day to the next. I’ll just take it day by day. At least I’m alive…

So I apologise if you visited my place and I haven’t returned the visit. I’ll get there.

At the moment I’m without a computer so I’m going to post this from my phone.

I hope it looks okay.

Fingers crossed.

THANK YOU TO ALL MY FRIENDS/BLOGGY BUDDIES! HAPPY IWSG DAY!

You’ve been in my thoughts a lot, Michelle. Having gone through the same kind of loss, I know how challenging these months have been for you. And I know that this Covid mess–on top of a lot of grief– has added weight to what you’re already carrying. Sending my best energy your way.

Michelle, my heart goes out to you. It’s been a rough ride for your family. I hope your husband’s arm is healing. And that soon you won’t have to worry about online learning crap.

Oh, Michelle! You’ve been through so much! I’m so sorry to hear this. Alive is good. Sometimes you have to make yourself focus on the next step and then the next step. You’ll get there, but it is hard. Hard makes us stronger. Wishing you all the best and sending you a huge hug!

Sorry about the hard time you’ve been through. I’m hoping in a few months things look a little clearer for all of us, but we can’t bank on anything. Keep taking it day by day.

Hi Michelle – oh so sorry to read about your Mother – so sad … then moving house and stuck in the process, while your hubby had that accident … and school being back despite Covid … I can imagine you’re hectic. Take care – but so agree with you re blogging buddies – we’re lucky with this group. IWSG and friends are great. Stay safe – Hilary

So sorry for your loss and the injury of your husband. I know too well how stressful moving can be.
    The post looks great.
Thanks for taking the time to reach out and share in the midst of all that’s going on.

So sorry to hear about the tragedy in your life. But yes: you’re still alive and that’s the important thing as you can always create a better tomorrow from the sorrow of the past. Good luck with moving — the backlog meant I received packages months after they were due, I hope it goes better for you 🙂

You’ve had such a lot of deal with over the past few months. I’m so sorry to hear about your mum. I lost my dad two months ago.

The friends I’ve made blogging definitely helped to push me to achieve more than I thought possible. Blogging is a fantastic way to connect.
