Top Ten Movie Blogfest
Today is the Top Ten Movie bloghop, hosted by Alex J Cavanaugh, in which we get to list our top ten movies of all time. I'm not really a movie lover. To be honest, I can't remember the last time I visited the movie theatre to watch something on the big screen. Maybe 3 or 4 years ago? Not even sure about that. And I don't worry too much about TV…
I signed up because I have watched at least 10 movies in my entire lifetime that made some sort of impression on me. The last 6 of my top ten pick are in no specific order. The top 4 have been fixed in my memory, in that order, for quite a while now…
10.GREASE
Summer Lovin'…
9.FLASHDANCE
What a feeling…!
8.DIRTY DANCING
Time of my life…!
7.THE BODYGUARD
I Have Nothing!
6.COMING TO AMERICA
A good laugh
5.DEAD POETS SOCIETY
Carpe Diem!
4.MAN IN THE IRON MASK
Study in loyalty/friendship and how power can affect both
3.TITANIC
Epic Romantic Disaster – Great visuals!
2.GLADIATOR
Epic Historical Drama!
1.THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
Brilliant! Intense and riveting drama!
Now head over to check out the rest of the participants!
You like movies with great soundtracks! Very cool.
Thanks for participating in my blogfest.
We have some in common;) I loved The Man in The Iron Mask too, and Shawshank Redemption is timeless! Great picks!
I am a closet GREASE fan! I must have watched it two dozen times one summer! 🙂
Love your list! seen them all but no 6.
We can watch movies together . Great list. Have you seen White Nights? It's probably close to 30 years old by now, but a great dance movie.

Shawshank was in my list… such an amazing movie. Love your list, and so glad you owned liking Grease. Dirty Dancing also made my list, and I wished I would have thought of Gladiator. Such a great movie.
Enjoyed your list!
I've watched all of these. Really enjoyed Coming to America, too.
Oooh Flashdance, great songs! and Coming to America, I laughed so much with that one. Very good choices.
@Alex ~ Seems like the movies with great soundtracks are the most memorable for me…
@Marta ~ Shawshank seems to be a popular choice…
@DL ~ Grease is timeless… I've even taught my choir kids some of the songs! 🙂
@Adriana ~ It's a great comedy!
@Rhonda ~ Isn't White Knights the movie about tap-dancing? Or am I mixing it up with something else…
@Tia Bach ~ Thanks for the visit! 🙂
@Natasha ~ Eddie Murphy is hilarious! Loved his character in this movie!
@Al ~ Flashdance has some real feel-good music that will never die…

Great list! I've seen almost all of these. I love 'Nobody puts Baby in a corner." from Dirty Dancing.
I like how the songs are the most memorable part. Flashdance was my favorite movie when I was younger. I was so inspired by it!
I love seeing what everyone came up with for this blogfest.
I haven't seen most of these, but I love Dirty Dancing.
For someone who doesn't watch a lot of movies, you came up with ten good ones.
Some awesome picks! #1, #2, #3, #6, #7, and #8 are some of my faves!
Love Grease. I'm so upset I missed Dead Poet's Society – definitely a "top ten" movie.
Awesome picks! I've seen Grease on a few lists lately and am hankering to check it out again–it's been too long. And what's not to utterly love about Shawshank? Amazing movie!
@Nutschell ~ Shawshank is very, very popular! Lots of bloggers included it on their lists.
@Carol ~ That's a classic line… and such a feel-good moment!
@Mary ~ I always seem to remember the music from the movies…
@Medeia ~ Dirty Dancing is such a memorable movie!
@LD ~ I think the music/dance movies have stayed in my mind because I'm so drawn to the soundtrack
@Mel ~ We seem drawn to similar movies!
@Kimberly ~ Dead Poet's Society is awesome! Robin Williams at his best!
@Meradeth ~ Yes, Shawshank is cream of the crop! A real winner!
Those are all such wonderful movies. Many of them take me back… I wore out 3 VHS copies of Dirty Dancing. I'm glad they came up with dvds.
Dead Poets & Shawshank are for sure in my top 10 as well. Dead Poets might be number 1. "Oh Captain, my Captain!" 🙂
Great list! I think Titanic would be number 1 or number 2 on my list!
@MPax ~ Dirty Dancing has such poignant moments… an unforgettable movie.
@E.J. ~ Who can forget those words? Classic moments… 🙂
@Sherry ~ I can remember seeing Titanic on the big screen when it was first released.(Remember, I'm not a movie person…) I was really taken in by the visuals… really something else…
Just dropping in from the blog hop. You've got a great list. I have much love for Gladiator! Also, I forgot about "Man in the Iron Mask". It's been ages but I can remember it being a fabulous film. :3
