The PinYin A to Z Project

JUST JOKING.

(you can read the details about this challenge and the competition running throughout the month of April)

The word for Day 20 is—

                                                  TRACASSERIE

A multi-million dollar, highly specialised surface which has been installed in a specially designed, state-of-the-art, high-tech arena, which can be changed from astro turf, to wooden surface, to ice rink, to Tartan track, at the flip of a switch, in order to cater for a variety of events.

So that's my definition. What's yours? Post it in the comment box below. Remember you stand to win a prize.

A tracasserie is an indoor/outdoor brasserie with a track around it for walking.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 24, 2013 at 11:48 am

Perfect. After stuffing oneself with all sorts of scrumptious food, the patrons can then proceed to the track, and lose some calories. 🙂

I'm going to leave you hugs and chocolate instead. Been writing all afternoon.

    Hugs and chocolate,

    Shelly

Thank you Shelly. And good luck with the book signing on 02/03 May… not sure which date… 🙂

It's a surgical procedure done on the throat. Sometimes with success!

    • Michelle Wallace on April 24, 2013 at 11:52 am

Sometimes? What's the success rate? Sounds like risky business…

A new amusment park ride the shots you to the moon and back.

3–2–1– away we go——————– (like the image this produces, I can see it in my mind's eye…)

My thought feel very twisted lately 😉

Welcome to the theatre of twisted thoughts… 🙂 You are not alone…

    *thoughts ;(

    Point proven.

It's a new kind of rotisserie that is fueled by running on a treadmill. New meaning to working it off before dinner.

  8. Nancy LaRonda Johnson on April 24, 2013 at 12:47 am

That is cool. I wish I had a bed that transformed like that – you know from feather mattrress, to a memory foam, to water bed, etc. 🙂

Anyway, I know tracasserie to mean (It was actually a vocabulary word in elementary school, which I misspelled and lost the spelling bee) is the sexy walk a woman (or man) does to attract their mate. I've known several women who had the butt shake down pat. I've always been too shy to bring attention to myself like that. So as you can see, I really don't have great love for this word.

**Don't ask why they'd have a word like this in an elementary school vocabulary test and spelling bee.

Your guess is as good as mine… though at this point, the brain has already switched off and is incapable of coherent thought, let alone guesswork! Haha!!

  9. Trisha on April 24, 2013 at 1:35 am

Your definition for tracasserie has twisted my brain into a figure 8! But the word itself is not helping either 😉 It's far too early in the morning for such a word! 😀

  10. Julie on April 24, 2013 at 2:19 am

Too tired to tackle tracasserie, but I do like  Diane's definition best!

  11. Medeia Sharif on April 24, 2013 at 5:40 am

It sounds like a fancy piece of furniture.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 24, 2013 at 12:02 pm

Your answer made me think of wrought-iron patio furniture…

  12. Jocelyn Rish on April 24, 2013 at 5:49 am

Love your definition. It sounds food related to me, so I'm going to go with: a device used for infusing vodkas with various meat flavors like bacon, steak, and roasted chicken.

  13. Annalisa Crawford on April 24, 2013 at 7:28 am

If you say the word out loud enough times, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever 🙂

  14. Nick Wilford on April 24, 2013 at 9:15 am

I'm with the rotisserie type place with a running track to burn it off afterwards. So, a la Carol and Diane. 🙂

    • Michelle Wallace on April 24, 2013 at 12:09 pm

And wouldn't that be just great? Guilt-free eating conditions? Just pop over to the track and work off those calories…

  15. J. A. Bennett on April 24, 2013 at 11:57 am

OH! I think I have a different definition for this. Three houses linked together. That's just what it looks like to me. Your theme has been really fun 🙂

    • Michelle Wallace on April 24, 2013 at 12:13 pm

It sounds like it could be a trendy 21st century architectural design… thanks Jennie! 🙂

  16. Julie Flanders on April 24, 2013 at 1:03 pm

All I could think of when reading it was rotisserie chicken and casserole combined. So maybe some kind of casserole that is slow roasted on a stick? Not sure how that would work but my mind is totally gone thanks to the challenge.

When people of varying abilities and musical instruments come together for a special event to play a song. It was a tracasserie of sound.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 24, 2013 at 9:02 pm

A tracasserie of sound? Love this! The word does have a melodic ring… 🙂

  18. Michael Di Gesu on April 24, 2013 at 2:03 pm

    Fun word….

This word conjure up something different for me… I see it as a high end restaurante … It features all kinds of exotic meats on rotisseries. SIZZLING. But it family style. So all the tables are like at HOGWARTS benchse with mile long wooden tables. The lighting hovers over them keeping the meats in the center hot and juicy….

    • Michelle Wallace on April 24, 2013 at 9:04 pm

I can feel the heat and smell the aroma from the different meats… mmm… the tables and lighting add great ambience!

It's a new appliance for the modern home. It cleans, cooks, does the laundry and reads aloud to you as you fall asleep at night. If I'm wrong and it hasn't been invented it should be.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 24, 2013 at 9:08 pm

Do the duties extend to handling e-mails and blog posts? I sure could use that appliance right now! 🙂

Tracasserie is a type of casserole made with nothing but cheese.  Also knows as brie.

Used in a sentence:  Get that tracasserie away from me or my lactose-intolerant a** will throw up.

    • Michelle Wallace on April 24, 2013 at 9:10 pm

Easy, peasy, cheesy, brie-sy tracasserie-sie… just rambling on…

    What a Tounge Twister!

  22. Beverly on April 24, 2013 at 8:25 pm

I'm gonna go with a medieval torture device involving boiling oil and an iron pot…

  23. Mary on April 25, 2013 at 8:55 pm

It's actually the creative art of beaded handbags with all those tiny chinks of chain and all those little tiny beads making up pretty images.

  24. Michelle Wallace on April 25, 2013 at 9:22 pm

You've just reminded me that I've been meaning to go on a basic bead-making course…  🙂
