U is for Unfinished/Unpublished Book

U-Day is upon us! Are you up-to-date? Then utter uncontrollable ululations with urgency and uplifted spirits because only five units remain in this ultimate universal blogging challenge. This unique and unending journey is unravelling quickly. This is an unavoidable fact for all participants, whether unconcerned, uncertain or unruffled…

Ever wondered what books would say if they had the chance to express themselves/air their views?

Well, you are about to find out!

All illustrations are by the talented Mary-An. Check out her website HERE

And now you get to play along! What do YOU think the unfinished book wants to tell us? Post it in the comment section below. Have fun!

At the end of the challenge, between 02nd and 05th of May, I'm going to announce my favourite "book comment" which will be the one that resonates with me the most!

A REMINDER: the IWSG site will have a corresponding post for each letter/day of the A to Z Challenge so do stop by.

On the Facebook page, a thread will be started for the "letter of the day" and we'd LOVE you to share your A to Z post links on the daily thread – this saves YOU time scrolling through links on the master A to Z sign-up list, especially since people post at different times… some MAY skip letters… dead links etc.

One last thing – don't forget to visit those who stop by your blog!

Why don't you like me anymore? We had such a good time together.

"Words! They're just words! If my words have offended you, then get over it. It's not like they're stick and stones, you know… "

Great U post! Fun idea. 🙂

Oh you fickle, fickle human!  You -the short, attention span and easily distracted cretin!  You are unworthy of me-you betrayer of dreams. I had so much hope for you at the start of what could've have been a beautiful relationship!  Fine-Go-walkout the door!! Don't turn around now, you don't love me anymore! -sung to "I will Survive".

As the author gently or not so gently sets the unfinished book in the drawer, another book in a  similiar situation moves aside and says, "Don't worry kid, she'll get back to us one day."

"Remember that one time…when you loved me? Why did we grow apart? 🙁 "

Oh my. My unfinished books would probably say, "Thank you for never showing me to anyone because I suck!"

I laughed when I saw your comments. I wanna read the couch!

And of all the people I just met I should have known you would write about an inanimate object

The giveaway on the blog was a bust but I just finished one on Goodreads. I may have another there also next month depending

    these comments are hysterical

My words don’t languish in drawers, they’re in folders on my computer

And actually today Robert from one of those folders is sitting next to me poking my arm and wanting me to pay attention to him

but the books would say – Don’t hit that delete button or you’ll be sorry

Just hopping over as fellow participants of the A to Z Challenge and yes, we are going through exactly what you wrote about here! It's an awesome challenge and really tests your patience and ability to plan and schedule your posts. I am so happy that we went ahead and planned all of our topics ahead of time and given that we chose a pretty broad theme with #DreamDestinations it has worked out pretty well. The tough part however is on those days that you are crazy busy but you still have to eek out a post.

Fine. Who needs you anyway? I'll finish my own story!

"Please stop drinking decaf. There's people in here, hanging on cliffs, waiting for you to embrace caffeine and edit us into the light of day!"

Waiting for my time in the sun, oh the lessons I've taught you, and the ones you still have to learn… 🙂

    How fun! Okay, I'll play.

"I'm so tired, could you please, please, just stop rearranging me? What's with the critiques already? Jeez, you're going to give me an inferiority complex …"

"Don't you want me baby? Don't you want me, ooo-oooooh" (that song by the human league. They sing it day and night from the depths of my hard drive)

Hi Michelle .. "Uncover me and let's start again … I've got a lot going for me … Unravel your thoughts and let's get this unique show on the road"

    Cheers Hilary
